This is the same guy who signed an executive order that pretty much requires hiring union labor for all Federal projects. So we can afford that but we can't afford to give a raise to our men and women risking their lives for our country?

Some President. But then, who is more likely to vote for him?

Even their ballots in recent elections have been cast aside or not counted.

As in 2000 and 2004???

Any lawyers already standing by to disallow on any possible technical grounds no matter how small, no matter how ridiculous???

Did you read of the Dem Lawyers coming out of the room after getting 800 military ballots in Florida disallowed???????????

and the Republican lawyers asked them how they could smile and laugh after getting so many military service men’s and women’s voting ballots disallowed

and the Dems laughingly answered

“Hey, a wins a win!!!”

I’ved lived amoung these people. They say much worse when they think no one is listening or recording.

They are despicable excuses for human beings.........

It will only get worse.

>The Gov’t is wasteful as it is. At least $2.3 Trillion is unaccounted for by DoD.
>
>Implying we are gonna save money pay cutting pay to service members is crazy.

You know, maybe we could float the idea that the government could save money by cutting back on food-portions and mail-service for our deployed troops.

{Hackworth, in ne of his books, mentions there are three things that are CRITICAL to keeping troops content; guess what they are.}

Which is what I did.

Meanwhile, the little messiah is handing districts in Afghanistan back to the Taliban - complete with firebases intact - the better for them to what kind of defenses we use -

and oh, yes, complete with ammo, missiles, rockets, thousands of gallons of gas....

the districts that are now the new ‘tip of the spear’ are already seeing losses - and I'd like someone to investigate where the ammo came from.

And the news story yesterday? “The Taliban are gaining in strength and better weapons” ans a photo with a Taliban having a rocket on his should sure looked a lot more advanced than what they had been using. Ours?

When we, in compliance with the new ‘strategy’, pulled out of the Korengal Valley 3 weeks ago - a place where the hardest of fighting for the past 5 years has been, ALWAYA undermanned, under equipped, short rations, often had to be re-hydrated with SHOTS for lack of water, incurring the highest losses -

THIS is the propaganda from the WH/DOD

http://video.foxnews.com/v/4152379/pulling-out-of-valley-of-death

Now see the TRUTH - bad enough they were made to pull out - but they were made to make a deal with the Taliban - didn't hear about this? Big surprise NOT. The deal: If you let us pull out without firing on us we'll leave you the 5000 gallons of gas, the structures - oh, and ammo, rockets , missiles...” Instead of We're pulling out - one shot from you and the valley will become a gravel pit. Understood?”

wanna cite me ANY time in history such a deal was made? Along with the new ROE that denies our troops to shoot until shot at (letting the tallies get up close and personal) and not allowed to shoot at all is there is ANY possibility of civilians in the area, and being denied air cover if pinned down and getting killed...
Who's side is the CIC/DOD on?

http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=125_1271693179

Everyone of those bullets, rockets, missiles that will now be used against our troops - are fired by obama. But will America know? Will America care. (Don't miss Idol of Dancing with the Stars!)

the Taliban have a friend in the WH

>Why doesn’t Congress just exempt military pay received in combat from federal income tax?

It’s supposed to be.
After I was deployed I got all the taxes on combat-zone pay returned. {It is another scam by the Government though, amounting, roughly, to interest-free loans.}

It just goes on and on ... "The Muslim Call to Prayer is one of the Prettiest Sounds on Earth" - said Barack Obama to the New York Times (later scrubbed from the web!!!) Allah is greater than any description
I testify that there is no deity except for Allah
I testify that Muhammad is a Messenger of Allah
Make haste towards the prayer
Make haste towards the worship
Prayer is better than sleep
Allah is the greatest!
There is no deity except for Allah

Why should the military be a sacred cow when it comes to cuts? In case you haven’t heard, we’re broke. The main problem here is that Obama is not serious enough. It is time to stop policing the wolrd. Again: here’s a newsflash for you: we can’t afford it anymore.

Really? Have you considered just what it is that military personnel actually DO? How much is YOUR life worth? How about your leg, or your arm? Would you work for the same pay and benefits (which, I might add, are always being “adjusted” by people who contribute nothing more to society than creating larger government and more taxes) if you knew you had a high chance of not coming home to your family, or coming home without one of your limbs?

They sacrifice much. Their compensation doesn’t begin to repay them for their bravery and dedication to their country.

>$80K a year to deliver mail? $52K a year to dodge bullets and “be all you can be”? Does anyone see anything wrong with this? Except that maybe the mail carriers belong to a union...

Maybe the military should form a union... oh, right, that’s illegal!

>Time for change alright. Time for the total transformation of government back to reality and fiscal responsibility.

I almost think that short of our troops marching on Congress, the USSC, AND the Executive branch and putting them ALL on trial [or military tribunal] for treason [, sedition, and or dereliction-of-duty] is the only way to get some semblance of Rule of Law into place.

“Why doesn’t Congress just exempt military pay received in combat from federal income tax?”

Good question. Why haven’t they been doing this all along? The Congress & Obama (who made $5 MILLION last year) get their raises, keep their special medical packages, yet some of our military qualify for food stamps. Sick, sick, sick.

disproportionate to what profession requiring the same level of education and responsibility?
Postal supervisors?
High school administrators?
Elementary school principals?
Muncipal managers?
Insurance executives?
Commercial airline pilots?
Worldwide logistics managers?
the CEO in charge of marketing Purina dog chow?

Maybe you’re willing to trust your soldier-kid’s life (not to mention your nation’s security) to field grade and general officers whose level of qualification, commitment to working whatever hours it takes to get the mission accomplished, decisionmaking skills, and judgement ...... gain them lower pay in the job market than the above?

How many active duty serving in the combat zones think that overall, their field graders are overpaid and want to see lower-paid people in their places?

You do realize that GO’s and field graders are a miniscule percentage of the 2 million man force.... and paid less than university administrators.

Go ahead, then. Cut or cap military GO and field grade officer pay and make it comparable to pay for being a school principal or a city wastewater manager or a banker with 10 years of experience or more.

Of course then let’s expect the same level of qualification, commitment and job hours and conditions and risks for school principals and wastewater managers as we do for military pilots, ship crew, submariners, logisticians, infantry/armor commanders, marine unit commanders, etc.

Please see my post #52. Cut the bleepin’ welfare programs, leave the military alone. Why should we honor those who contribute nothing, while we take away from those who are willing to contribute ALL, including their lives.

OK, let’s bring the troops (so they can REALLY focus on defense rather than world policing or building schools in Afghanistan) and then maybe (despite our massive budget deficits) we can use some of the savings to pay them even more generously. The trouble is that can’t afford to maintain our world empire. The spigot has run dry.

Yeah, except "bleepin'" socialized medicine for the military, right? The warfare and welfare states go together like hand in glove. It is no coicidence that the two biggest defenders of the welfare state in the twentieth century (FDR, Truman, and Johnson) were also the biggest friends of world policing.

Besides, you could eliminate the ENTIRE domestic welfare state and STILL have a massive budget debt. We need cut both. Belive it or not some conservatives don't check their distrust of big government at the door, when it comes to super big government policing the world and nation building.

Really? The spigot seems to be running pretty forcefully into the Dept of Education, Dept of Labor, HHS, EPA, HUD and pick 1000 other unaccountable federal agencies and bureaucracies with powers not enumerated by the US Constitution.

and it’s not overpaid SEALs in Afghanistan tracking al Qaeda who decided to spend appropriations on $1 billion bombers and $2 billion ships.

You equate pay to qualification. There is no relationship.

How many active duty serving in the combat zones think that overall, their field graders are overpaid and want to see lower-paid people in their places

I dunno and neither do you.
