All: Cinco De Mayo is not the Mexican independence day and gets little recognition in Mexico.

However, May 5, 1818 is Karl Marx' birthday.

Wasn’t the faux “holiday” started by Bennigans in conjunction with some beer company to create a day to drink even more than usual? I thought I heard/read that somewhere.
