Duffy chops way to front-runner status [Palin endorsed]
Milwaukee Journal Sentinel ^ | May 9, 2010 | Dave Umhoefer

Blessed with a TV-star smile, an athlete's body and lawyerly gifts of gab and jab, Ashland County District Attorney Sean Duffy seems born for the role of small-town guy bucking the odds to win a seat in Congress on his first try.

After U.S. Rep. David Obey's stunning retirement announcement last week, pundits and friends declared the father of six the new front-runner in the 7th Congressional District race.

But Duffy, a world-champion lumberjack and speed-climber of 90-foot cedar poles, knows that winning means surviving the nerve-racking plunge to the finish.

"Whether it's Dave Obey or someone else, this is still going to be tough," Duffy said hours after the powerful Democrat announced the end of his 41-year reign. "This is my first time to the prom. I don't know how it works."

The rough stuff is already coming from Duffy's Republican primary opponent, who calls him a pretty boy and party lapdog. And Democratic Party operatives say he's a made-for-TV empty suit groomed from early adulthood for this moment.

To everyone who bashed me for asking for more information because Palin’s support alone did not seem like sufficient information to determine whether the candidate was conservative, you are just proving yourself to be unthinking people who will blindly and permanently support McCain because Palin asked you to do so. With folks like you, no wonder McCain got elected in the first place.

In my case, I will support Bachmann but not McCain. I see no reason to support McCain just because Palin endorsed him. I now see what kind of people get fooled by endorsements and why endorsements are so important. I also see what kind of people permanently support McCain.

Like I pointed out already.

Good strategy for a liberal, hijack a thread about the race of Sean Duffy to take a Democrat seat.

Way to step on his support here.

You were saying ...

If you go back and look at my posts to you ... you'll see that I gave you "information" to show you that it's not just Palin who is saying this, but it's also two of my own state's Senators ... James Inhofe and Tom Coburn, considered quite conservative in their own right -- who back Carly Fiorina.

Now, in my Post #12 (Conservative Leaders for Carly Fiorina) and Post #13 (Susan B. Anthony List Candidate Fund Endorses Carly Fiorina for U.S. Senate in California), and Post #14 (CPLC (California Prolife Committee) Endorses Carly Fiorina), and Post #15 (Carly Fiorina Endorsed by Oklahoma Senator James M. Inhofe), and Post #17 (my compilation of Sarah Palin Freeper threads) -- how is that "bashing" you...

I look at it as providing information for you ... and you post to me and say that I'm bashing you ... it's quite curious... are you feeling okay today?

Time to worry when the very liberal MJS conjures up such a glowning report about a “conservative”.Check out what Wisconsin FRs are reporting

Your statement was lame. But, you shouldn't support someone just because Palin or any one says so, check them out! Make up your own mind. Bashing Palin just shows you aren't doing your own homework. Sarah points out good candidates by her research and reasoning and you still have to make up your own mind.

I just happen to agree with her on the Carly thing because DeVore seems dead in the water and playing spoiler now. She stepped in to support Emmer for this same reason, to hopefully point the way. You might reject that but its a valid point of view shared by top conservatives as Starwise has belabored.

Now as to Duffy, it is hard to imagine a better guy .. he is so dynamic that he scared Obey right out of his seat. Read up on him and see if you don't agree. But if you do agree now you owe him a contribution.

I am not a McCain supporter. Gov. Palin probably felt obligated to campaign for him out of loyalty. Beyond that, I have little to complain about the way she conducts herself. So take me off your whine list.

I didn't mean you when I addressed those who bashed me. I copied you since you participated in the thread. I should have been clearer. Sorry about that. Thanks for the information.

I prefer ideology over loyalty.

So asking whether someone is a Tea Party type is hijacking the thread. And as I already pointed out, thanks for exposing the fact that you get agitated whenever someone questions McCain’s credentials.

You are quite the troll jokester, and hijacking is definitely your game today. It sure keeps everyone from being able to discuss the thread topic, that is too bad, I am interested in learning more about that race.

Good strategy for a liberal, hijack a thread about the race of Sean Duffy to take a Democrat seat.

Way to step on his support here.
