I’m always torn between the idea of abandoning certain leftie enclaves like Berkeley and NYC and SF on the one hand, and fighting for every inch of it no matter how seemingly futile on the other.
If we force them to expend wealth and energy everywhere, they fall in more places. Right now, I’m spellbound by the 2008 Sarah Palin/Michigan moment, when as you’ll recall McCain HQ gave up on the state, Palin announced in public she did not agree, and the HQ accused her of “going rogue.”
I think we might have gotten something more than just a book title out of that particular moment (if not Michigan).
