>>> So, every time a conservative lets one of these people get away with that garbage — and every time Redstate, Ace, or Free Republic allows a photo like that to be displayed and an attitude like that to stand — you are only helping the Left.

Yes.

>>> Making gay jokes doesn’t make one secretly gay, any more than making Polack jokes makes one Polish.

Agreed, but both for much the same reasons are clear indications of being a horses ass.

Some people never get it. The reason this country is in trouble are the slew of different special interest groups that want to be pandered to.

Why is it everyone has to know a person is gay, or black, or white, or pick your own group.

Either you believe in the country set down by the founders as a whole or you don’t.

All this resentment is caused by groups of people who think that being noticed and elevated by force, or by blackmail validates their lifestyle. What I see here is a kind of “embrace my personal lifestyle choices or I will make you pay mentality”.

Live your life, love your country and accept that we all are never going to think alike on everything. One thing we can agree on is keeping America home of freedom and liberty.

Somewhere I must be missing that page of the Constitution where people have a right to never be offended and always be compensated because our feelings are hurt.

Yes. Christianity does teach homosexual acts are sins. But that isn’t license to denigrate and mock anyone. The point of the faith is to want to best for others—to express caritas.

Can’t find it but Hillbuzz alluded to this in one essay. A Texan, as I recall, told one of them “You boys ain’t right in the head. You need to find yourself a good woman”.

They got it. This Texan was expressing caritas. He wanted the best for them. The Texan got his point across and they were not put off.

Cultural marxists do not want this. They do not want straights to express charity and do not want gays to understand many (the vast majority in my opinion) people are not motivated by “hate”. Leftists incite people to denigrate gays and lesbians rather than show caritas. Cultural marxists play the same game among the races. They do it so they can run to these groups and say, “Look...look...these people HATE you...they want you dead...we’ll protect you”.

Freepers Against Gay Sex

Yep, looks like they’re trying to hide something.

we just don’t understand why you want to keep throwing away the LGBTQ vote when the only thing you have to do to start winning it is to just stop the sophomoric hate and insipid anti-gay jokes

d55may, my fellow Freepers humor often offends me (right after I recover from stomach hurting laughter...you have to admit some of these guys are really funny). I can see where the humor is hurtful and inappropriate and counterproductive. However, putting humor aside there is the larger issue of the culture clash. Yes, apparently we have a common denominator to turn the country back to principles that make this country great. Unfortunately, although you agree about financial principles you see moral principles differently. We believe that the moral principles, including the traditional biblical sexual principles, are the very foundation that made us a great nation. Without these principles there can be no conservative financial principles, no economic only conservatives. Without a moral people it is impossible to have a moral financial country.

I understand that gays and lesbians have both religious and political leaders that have helped them rationalize that biblical leaders and scripture are wrong and that man has evolved and that gay and lesbianism is normal. You know and they know in their hearts that they are wrong. You are living a lie and that lie will forever remove the joy that you and others like you deserve.

Yes, the jokes are not helpful. We should be reaching out to you with love and with the message that there is acceptance that God loves you and desires a relationship with you. Yes, that relationship will change you but the cost will be a heart filled with joy.

Not supporting the lifestyle I’m just saying let them vote for the right without discouraging it.

I don’t disagree. I wasn’t making that comparison, as I’ve explained.

Yes, there are some folks that go too far, but if you see it, just report it to the mods.

Well, I've never seen anybody here advocating killing queers, that, in my opinion would be "too far".

In Uganda and the mooselimb countries of the middle east, they don't think that's too far though.

I do not have a poor understanding of liberty or history.

I just think you should let people do what they want in their own bedrooms. If you disagree and you want to police it by using government or otherwise that’s fine, but then don’t pretend to be in favor of liberty.

Would Conservatives really be further ahead if John McCain had won? Really? Not at all

You're right, we'd be talking about McCain care now instead of Obama care.

The Clown Posse hated me.

Did "Wankers for Romney" ever get off the ground? I know JR suggested it as a name for a new web site for Romney worshipers.

What is it about making gay jokes that helps conservatives?

The relevant question may be, why should queers be exempt?

Whatever floats your boat. Just stop demanding my affirmation and approval and quit with the name calling and accusations when I won’t give it.

Yeah! Ping! Bump! To what you said. We are not required to provide anyone with affirmation and approval for behavior. That is the lifestyle they chose, I don't have to approve of it.

In fact it is my Right to be offended by it, so there.

Let me ask you this.

If you think that God disapproves of gay people, do you also think that God disapproves of gay people voting for conservative candidates?

Because that is really the crux of the matter. My point is, it doesn’t really matter what you think about the first part of my question. Its the second part that’s important.

Whether or not you think that God disapproves of gay people, you should still be able to see that gay people voting for conservatives is a good thing. All I’m saying is don’t discourage it. That’s all. I’m not saying you need to approve or disapprove of their lifestyle. You can remove the question of their lifestyle from the equation entirely, because in this country, if they have the sense to vote for a conservative, then they should vote for a conservative.

Do something about your militant brethren and then we can talk. I have no problem with what one chooses in his/her bedroom.

Well said.

That’s probably true, but he would have smote a much more financial-solvent body politic.

And that would have been something to their credit.

In all seriousness, there is a moral element to a body politic that is financially solvent.

If you have a group of people who manifest the attitude, through their elected officials, that they can just borrow and borrow and never repay, that does in fact does say something about the moral underpinning of that group of people. It says something about their relationship with reality.
