Republican Finance Chief Fired Over $2,000 Tab at Strip Club
Politics Daily ^ | 8/5/10 | Chris Webber

Posted on 05/08/2010 4:25:25 PM PDT by Eleutheria5

The Republican National Committee finance chief, the guy in charge of the purse strings when staffers charged nearly $2,000 for "meals" at a Los Angeles bondage-themed club, has been fired.

Rob Bickhart will be replaced by Mary Heitman, former finance director for the Republican Governors Association, Politico reported Friday.

Bickhart's dismissal comes as the RNC tries to lure back donors who were put off by reports earlier this year of the after-hours outing to Voyeur West Hollywood by the Young Eagles, the invitation-only group of young donors to the Republican Party. In March, the RNC fired Allison Meyers, the staffer who approved the nightclub expense.

On Friday, RNC Chairman Michael Steele also let go deputy finance director Debbie LeHardy, according to Politico. LeHardy was reimbursed for purchases at clothing stores that were listed as "office supplies" in financial disclosure documents.

Obviously, Michael Steele is a racist. That's why he fired a black man. Don't let his skin color fool you. He's a racist.

No. He’s a racist. Steele’s only pretending to be black. He’s really a Republican racist (sorry for redundancy)./sarc

The Republican part is just as stupid as the Democrat party.

Michael Steele will have done the right thing when he resigns, and not a single moment before.

If the buck doesn’t stop with him, then he isn’t much of a leader, is he?

I don’t know what skin color the FC is. It is about time he was fired.

Bondage strip clubs is something that Democrats pay for, not a party that wants conservative, fiscally responsible voters to support them.

This was the right thing to do - if we can't show that we put the effort into keeping our own house clean, how can we convince the rest of the country that we know how to clean up D.C.?

Politicians are the privileged class in this thugocracy. Anything they want is perfectly fine, whatever goes. These unfortunate understudies grabbed at their “rewards” a little too soon, before getting ensconced in the club, tough for them. So sad...

There’s bigger transgressions in the republican party. Though this isn’t right either...

Yes our big tent must serve as a hospital for sinners and not a spa for Saints, I wonder about guys that go to strip clubs. Would not know what to do with a live woman, even if they could find one. Make them give the money back/
