I told my nephew, an editor for a local TV station, when he mocked what he thought I was saying, that there is a conspiracy among the media to help the Democrats. I told him that there is no conspiracy to help the Democrats, they ARE the Democrats.

I have been saying this for 15 years now. I thought we had a political problem until after the 1994 elections, which conservatives won overwhelmingly. The Republicans tried to enact their Contract with America, but had only limited success before they were viciously attacked by the media, and were forced to back off. They could not get their side out. For those who say there is no difference between the Democrats and the Republicans, remember that we are not ruled by the political parties, we are ruled by the Media. It is only since 1994 that we have developed enough new media to fight back with some success. The new media includes talk radio, the Internet, and now, to a little extent, Fox News.

In my 30+ years of observing the political tea leaves, it never fails the "Conservative" label ALWAYS handily defeats the "Liberal" label in polls. It also never fails that the "Democrat" label beats the "Republican" label when polled. Why this seeming paradox?
