This whole country is turning up-side down.

If I were to fall asleep for 10 - 20 years then wake up (like Rip VanWinkle) I don’t think I would recognize where I am.

Most schools I know of have a flagpole and fly the American flag. I wonder what flag this school flys, if any.

“Kids who wear American Flag T-shirts on 5 May should have to share a lunchroom table with those who wear a hammer and sickle on 4 July,” he tweeted.”

Of course they WOULD have to share a table with such hammer and sickle t-shirts, or with those who wear CHE t-shirts, except that July 4 is on Sunday and public schools are not in session. Our Federal holiday is on Monday, July 5 and there will be no public school that day, either.

What a toolbag.

Umm,, OK. Having to share a lunchroom table infers they're allowed to stay on campus. Which would have been the appropriate and legal response.

Too bad Ebert , who I knew 35 years ago in Chicago, didn’t
elaborate on his comment, which, on the face of it, is meaningless. I’ve watched Ebert’s PC-seized critical faculty, along with his very unfortunate health and medical problems, deteriorate over the years, which has been doubly sad. This highschool “flap” of course, is perfectly timed to come on the heels of the massive Open Borders, “WE are YOUR rulers!” rallies of the past weekend.

I imagine this principle also has a no American Flag clothing rule on Saint Patricks day as well.

Ebert:

What makes you think we, Americans, DON’T have to put up with libtards wearing Che Guevera T-shirts on Memorial Day?

What makes you think we DON’T have to put up with the Red Chinese marching down Independence Avenue in the Washington, D.C. 4th of July parade?

What makes you think we DON’T have to put up the public school systems banning the use of the word Christmas, while they all-out promote “Kwaanza,” invented by a Stalinist professor trying to eradicate Christianity from black culture?

But, Mr. Ebert, you’re Stalinist comparison is way off base. That’d be more like wearing a Klan robe on Martin Luther King day, or a nazi armband on Holocaust Appredication Day.

and I'll bet the kids wearing the hammer and sickle shirts would be allowed to stay in school with their shirts unlike the kids wearing their American flag apparel.

anyone remember this btw?

Or these

If Hispanics representing only 13 percent of US population are this demanding and willing to use violence to back their demands, what will they be like if they are 25 percent of US population?? Maybe it is time to look at our immigration quotas and adjust them.

If we celebrated every country’s victory over the French the year would be one big party.

How about we include Roger Ebert in a massive illegal/scumbag/diseased/criminal alien roundup, and force them all across the border? At the tip of a bayonet, if necessary.

Scouts Out! Cavalry Ho!

Roger Ebert masterfully illustrates why he is a movie critic and not in charge of running anything.

One of the students, Daniel Galli, said school officials told him they could wear their patriotic garb any other day, but "but today is sensitive to Mexican Americans because it's supposed to be their holiday so we were not allowed to wear it today."

So, these Mexican-Americans aren't Americans themselves with pride in this country? So much for the melting pot and an example of why multiculturalism is destructive.

Liberals for years have touted the idea of many separate cultures within one culture in order to gain power and it ripping the country apart.

Roger Ebert . . . has a solution. "Kids who wear American Flag T-shirts on 5 May should have to share a lunchroom table with those who wear a hammer and sickle on 4 July," he tweeted.

No problem. Five patriotic kids with the brass to stand up to school administrators vs. a couple of skinny dweebs and fat girls with Lefty parents who may still be on drugs. I think the confrontation would be short and exciting. And personally, I'm betting on the patriots. Any takers?

"We don't deserve to be get disrespected like that. We wouldn't do that on Fourth of July."

Some more days to fly the American flag.

May 1, the non-battle of Puebla to celebrate when the city surrendered to the US Army without a fight.

September 14, the day the American flag was hoisted above the palace in Mexico City.

And while we are at it, let's kick the stupid Pennsylvania rodent to the curb and make February 2nd a national holiday celebrating the signing of the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo.

Ebert's comment makes absolutely no sense.
A more appropriate analogy would be a principal in Mexico sending Mexican students home for wearing Mexican colors on the 4th of July.
Apparently Ebert would be okay with that.
Or, he's a hypocrite.
