20 Things You Will Need To Survive When The Economy Collapses And The Next Great Depression Begins

(This is a guest post from The Economic Collapse Blog.)
Today, millions of Americans say that they believe that the United States is on the verge of a major economic collapse and will soon be entering another Great Depression. But only a small percentage of those same people are prepared for that to happen. The sad truth is that the vast majority of Americans would last little more than a month on what they have stored up in their homes.
Most of us are so used to running out to the supermarket or to Wal-Mart for whatever we need that we never even stop to consider what would happen if suddenly we were not able to do that. Already the U.S. economy is starting to stumble about like a drunken frat boy. All it would take for the entire U.S. to resemble New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina would be for a major war, a terror attack, a deadly pandemic or a massive natural disaster to strike at just the right time and push the teetering U.S. economy over the edge. So just how would you survive if you suddenly could not rely on the huge international corporate giants to feed, clothe and supply you and your family? Do you have a plan?

Are you prepared?

Excuse me. I just calculated...it's been 20+ years since I was there. At that time there wasn't a Club Med at Playa Del Carmen (I assume there is one now) but, there was one at the uncleared ruins at Coba.
Look, It's still there: Coba Club Med, Villa Arqueologica
Many of the Dunkin Donuts and Starbucks were unable to sell coffee.
I wonder what they will do when the four horsemen actually do arrive.
Exactly why I began studying natural medicines a few years ago. I relaized that you just can't have enough of everything. I have kids, so I figured I needed to know how to keep them healthy and safe if TSHTF and you can't get the medicines you are used to.
What do you do if someone is bleeding or has a fever, and you can't get to a doctor? Learn now, that's what I decided to do. It is also a marketable skill post-whatever happens.
Wow. Never saw the place and I have been there twice.
I will look for it later this year.
Thanks.
Man that makes me angry.
Especially when you can just plant some stevia!
Lasts forever. A little goes a lonnnng way.
HA! I have so much printed out stuff my husband thinks I’m nuts. If I can’t access something without electricity, it is useless IMO.
Then there are those that have life-threatening and life-long illnesses who know that they cannot survive without medical intervention. They have weeks to live, not months.
They do not have their heads in the sand. They are realists. They wish the rest of you well.
Don’t mock them.
I've spent the last few years trying to determine what I could produce myself, and what I REALLY needed to buy. There is only so much storage room, you know!
Mints are also great plants for flavoring, and for medicine (I use mint in my water often to relieve GI issues). They grow like a weed, too.
We all will do the best we can with what we have. My long term health would be an issue post event. All I can do is educate my family in how to use things, grow things, etc., so they they will have the knowledge if something should happen to me. God bless.
My Norton blocked a hack attempt coming from your URL....
Thanks for the water suggestions! I glance at Rawles, but count myself as more of a FerFAL follower.
Is that the Argentina site?

They are small, inexpensive and easy to store.

It always bothered me in Road Warrior when Maxs dog got killed...

Although I can’t recall the title of an old WWII movie, but the “dogfaces”
of a US Army group adopted a stray dog, despite instructions to
not do such a thing.
When the unit was moving on via truck, the soldiers were told to leave
the dog behind (likely to starve in the bomb-shattered countryside).
The poor dog tried to keep up with the trucks, until one soldier
killed it with a shot from his M-1.
VERY disturbing; fortunately I saw this when I was a teen.
If I’d been younger, my folks probably would be on the hook for
a lot of visits to the shrink.
