WASHINGTON, May 6 (Reuters) - President Barack Obama's adminstration will soon announce its plan to reopen the U.S. border to Mexican trucks and end a dispute that prompted Mexico to slap duties last year on $2.4 billion worth of U.S. goods, a top U.S. official said on Thursday.

More likely than not you’ll end up with more union drivers as a result. Obama wouldn’t do it if it had any other outcome.
I remember something about Mexican trucks having to stop within a certain distance from the border and transfeer cargo.
This will allow those non union drivers and trucks to go throughout the U.S.
And I’m sure those trucks will all be up to code.
Only around 12% of American long haul drivers are unionized.
What about the transfer points?
The CHP is going to be very busy!
It’s going right up through Brownsville, Highway 59, through Houston, up I-45 through Dallas, then I-35 through Kansas and heading north. There were plans in Kansas City for a huge transfer terminal - don’t know what happened to that. South of Houston Highway 59 is still being advertised as the Trans Texas Corridor, lots of work going on and 4-6 lanes wide in both directions. Going to be a mess.
Ping!
Been awhile since we heard about the truckers...LaHood’s taking advantage of SB1070 to sneak this one in?
Personally I don’t think the transfer points are going to mean much for very long. After all, one of the biggest is in Kansas city of all places.
seal the border, stop all trade, deport the illegals and classify the zone of mexico as the birthplace of syphilis.
“This is what happens when there is no Duncan Hunter to kill this crap.”
Exactly! This is why the MSM will never give a conservative a chance to be seen or heard and that seems to suit the GOP just fine.
It’s the party of McCain, Charlie and Carly
They are deaf and DUMB in Washington..
