An oil refinery just southeast of downtown San Antonio is on fire.
The fire started at the AGE Refinery on South Presa, following an explosion. Large black plumes of smoke can be seen spilling into the skies above San Antonio.
The plant is located near Mission San Juan on Military Dr. and Presa.
AGE Refining, Inc., is based out of San Antonio. They refine several specialized petroleum products, including jet fuel and diesel. The company was founded in 1991.
There is at least one burn victim, according to initial reports.
Our sister station, KENS 5, has a crew on the way.
False alarm on P-burgh.
Oil is not the business to be cutting corners in. You still on the southside? I live up in hill country but work in the city.
Refinery fire or Reichstag fire?
Naw, moved to the north side in the 1970’s. I remember that area well though. The street that ran along side the refinery I believe is Presa. Out that way was a really run down country bar that didn't card anyone. Further out was a street off to the right that we street raced on.
I think the old honky tonk was called Frontier Town. Willie Nelson used to play there dressed like a businessman. I always remember he had a song that included the lyrics,” the flesh around your neck is pale; indented by my fingernails; please don't scream, please don't cry; I just can't let you say good-by.”
Can you imagine the s-storm that would erupt if he put out something like that today!
Don’t forget the super high electricity rates, also!
Interesting thread...ping.
Actually it is 3 refinery fires, 2 oil rig accidents, 2 mines and a handful of bombs (Times Square, Texas airport)...
(Love your screen name btw)
Jihadist Terror?
Hello $5 a gallon gas”
Gas here in N Nevada went up 10 cents between Tuesday & Wed this week.
Not sarcasm: the Obama wants to regulate home sales, including not allowing a sale of a home with a wood stove.”
Of course-—that Chicago thug has never lived in parts of the country where a wood stove is the only heat a person has.
He has always lived where power & other types of fuel are never shut down for any reason.
