If whites voted for republicans with the same kind of numbers that blacks vote for democrats republicans would win every election.

I seem to recall that, and they probably wouldn’t still let any conservative African American, or any conservative from another race in

There are no Republicans among the present 41 members of the Congressional Black Caucus, or among the 24 members of the Hispanic Caucus -- an absence that reflects the party's woeful performance among minority voters in recent elections and may threaten its very existence.

I would not want Republicans to join those organizations anyway.

I stopped reading about here, so did he even mention Micheal Steele?

The best advice to conservatives, if you ever get a desire to listen to Medved....don't.

He should have been on PSB or Air America. He's two blinks away from being a leftie liberal. I can listen for 5 minutes, and my blood is boiling at his leftie nonsense.

He a liberal in conservative clothing, nothing to see or hear...worth seeing or listeing to.

Yep, politically speaking, you look at some big cities such as Detroit, where there is no political competition. Such cities are disaster areas, and, all are run by Democrats. There are no competitive elections in too many places.

There’s no reason why 90+% of blacks should automatically vote Democrat, but, both parties seem to take this fact for granted.

It’s become readily apparent that the two ideological groups cannot live under the same political jurisdiction.

We must separate ourselves, probably along state lines, in order to avoid a bloody civil war.

We insist on being free, they insist on enslaving us.
We’d like to insist they be responsible for themselves, they refuse.

I hate these ‘Black, White, Latino, female’ lables and articles about the GOP. The party is based on a philosophy (smaler government, lower taxes, states rights, etc etc). It is not based on race. Any man or woman who relates to these philosophies is welcome in the GOP. The fact that most minorites associate with Dems just goes to show how effective the Dems have been at convincing monorites that they are helpless and hapless.

Here’s my message to minorites....and whites for that matter. You guys are great, capable, and talented!!! You don’t need the government. Come help us make an America full of independent determined self reliant people. We need your help and input!!!

Such cluelessness.

It’s not a lack of ‘diversity’ which is demolishing the GOP.

It is a lack of spine, and principle.

STAND TALL. Then people will follow. Even yes, people who aren’t white.

"White" is not a precise category, anyhow. Politically speaking, it really means "mainstream."

Minorities, for the most part, join the mainstream eventually.

So, minorities will come into the GOP, but not necessarily as minorities. Remember, the Irish and Italians were once "minorities." Prosperous Chinese, Japanese and Korean Americans are in the process of losing their "minority-ness." So, pandering to ethnic interests will not accomplish much, apart from alienating conservatives who believe in meritocracy.

Leave the identity politics to the Democrats. Principle will win out eventually.

Who cares. If they are solid conservatives their skin color is irrelevant.

There is no future for a Democrat Party composed solely of blacks, Hispanics and single white urban women either.

But if any of them carry their districts in November, it will help change the GOP image as a whites-only political organization and rejuvenate the once-vibrant party

Is Medved retarded? Any black Republican in Congress will be treated as a race traitor by the MSM. They will be treated like Justice Clarence Thomas is treated.

Of course they do. They also want the people to think that Conservatives are racist, which instead the rats are

Who was counting?

Is Medved a looking to become a race-baiting ambulance chaser? Somebody should tell him Sharpton and Jackson have a lock on that market.

I think African-Americans embraced the Democrats because of President Johnson. He worked to pass the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Voting Rights Act of 1965. Before that time, black voters didn’t vote as a bloc for Democrats.

Of course, the untold story there is that many Democrats opposed those laws. But that inconvenient truth is lost in the story of the good Democrat, President Johnson, finally delivering on civil rights legislation.

My opinion is that the dems look for people they can control easily and to a lesser extent so do the repubs. By control is meant ‘graft’ and other means that are coosidered distasteful by those possessing a moral conscience. Hence, GOP black and hispanic Americans are a cut above those of the dems.
