I don’t care how much oil the nazi war machine could have extracted from the Caucasus, or whether the Soviets were defeated or not, Patton would have still ended up in Berlin, VICTORIOUS.

Patton would of ended up in Berlin flattened by atomic weapons.

IIRC, Patton realized that the next war would be with the Soviets: he wanted to keep marching east.
{donning tinfoil hat} Considering the extensive penetration of the FDR govt by Soviet agents, perhaps that's the reason why he died an untimely death in Dec. 1945 ...

RE: Patton
Guy was itching to fight the commie bastards, esp after a demonstration of the M26 Pershing Tanks he saw and what they could do. There is some Youtube footage of Patton firing an MP44, MP 3008, and VG 1.

I kind of doubt that. Facing the entire German army would have driven our losses well beyond what Americans were willing to accept. The Western Allies (Patton included) never once faced to full force of the German army since the majority of that army was on the Eastern front which made the Western front look like a side show.
