Phoenix Suns enter immigration fray, to wear 'Los Suns' Jerseys in Game 2

PHOENIX - The Phoenix Suns will wear "Los Suns" on their jerseys Wednesday for Game 2 of the Western Conference semifinals, owner Robert Sarver said, "to honor our Latino community and the diversity of our league, the state of Arizona, and our nation."

The decision to wear the jerseys on the Cinco de Mayo holiday stems from a law passed by the Arizona Legislature and signed by Gov. Jan Brewer that has drawn widespread criticism from Latino organizations and civil rights groups that say it could lead to racial profiling of Hispanics. President Barack Obama has called the law "misguided."

If they really want to make a statement then they need to refuse to ask fans to show a ticket when they enter the arena or attempt to go down to the courtside seats instead of up to the nosebleed section. After all, it is just racial profiling to ask to see any identification or documentation proving they are authorized to sit in those seats.

Is pretty sad when here in Texas that Cinco de Mayo “holiday” has more of a following/celebration rite than an infinitely more important day: San Jacinto Day (April 21)… recognizing the day Texas won/sealed its independence from Mexico… when General Sam Houston and his charges b**ch slapped Mexican general Antonio de Padua María Severino López de Santa Anna y Pérez de Lebrón ‘s army.
