I'm with you on this, but I'm sure the folks at Major League Baseball won't miss me. I haven't paid my way into a MLB game since the 1994 strike (my only attendance at a game was for a company function).

I can actually see this from MLB's perspective, too. Baseball is rapidly becoming no different than soccer, in terms of its diminishing appeal to American fans. So bending over backwards to mollify their Latino players and fans may be a good business decision -- for them.

Baseball is rapidly becoming no different than soccer...

WHAT??

You must not know soccer (football)!

Baseball -- Hours and hours of...standing around waiting for something -- anything! -- to happen.

American Football -- Coach calls play in. Eighteen seconds of tightly scripted movement, followed by 5 minutes of beer commercials.

Soccer (real football) -- The beautiful game. The player's game. The game for thinkers. No scripted play. No commercials (except at half-time). True athletic play during the entire game.

Please don't compare "soccer" to... baseball.
