Will the Tea Party trip up Dino Rossi? (I sure hope so!)
Seattle PI ^ | 5/3/10 | Chris Grygiel

It's not just Democrats who are firing warning shots across Dino Rossi's bow.

Clint Didier, the U.S. Senate candidate, former Washington Redskin and and self-proclaimed Tea Party favorite, sent out a statement this weekend saying that if Rossi joins the race against Democrat Patty Murray as expected he'll face a strong challenge from Republicans like Didier.

"I don't know Dino Rossi personally. But I do know he is part of the Republican establishment – all you have to do is look at those he surrounds himself with. I don't believe he's the conservative people think he is. If people want more of the same, the McCain or Bush type of governing, then they can support Dino. If they want the change they missed the last time, then they can support me," Didier said.

"Finally, I believe I have most of the Tea Party and Campaign for Liberty support. No candidate will win this year without them. And the huge majority of these activists agrees with me and will not support Dino Rossi for the reasons just mentioned. And when they don't, he can't win. And this time around, they're not buying the 'lesser of two evils' argument. ... Rest assured, if Dino comes in this Senate race, it will not be the kind of primary he's used to. He will be facing some real conservatives with tough questions. People are broke, scared, tired, and looking for something new in politics. I'm running to give it to them."

Hey, if Heath Shuler can win a House race, dammit, we can put a Hog in the Senate.

Rossi is a good guy...he spoke to a crowd at a local Catholic school fundraiser and he was genuine and humorous and sincere....

JUST STOP THIS BASHING OTHER REPUBLICANS AND LETS NOT PULL ANOTHER "KILLING EACH OTHER OFF" FARCE LIKE THE LAST PRESDENTIAL ELECTION....

Discourse is fine but this insane bashing of one to boost another at this stage of the election is ludicris....

EXACTLY! Talk about why your candidate is better, not why another is bad. This is an historic opportunity - eliminate Patty Murray. ANY of the candidates would be a massive improvement over Patty (the ACU rated her the most liberal Senator of those who have more than 1 year in the Senate - MOST LIBERAL!).

We need to get ANYONE in there, because even a Susan Collins or Olympia Snowe would be a MASSIVE improvement from Patty Murray, and would be a stepping stone to even stronger conservative politicians.

Rossi’s great, Didier’s great, my man (Akers - lots of private industry experience in manufacturing which is critical to Washington State, home of Boeing) is great. All are huge improvements over Murray.

But we’ll probably end up eating our own because of a lack of compromise and forgetting to concentrate on the real enemy: Patty Murray.

Rossi may be a good guy, but he is not a good conservative. He is an establishment republican that goes along to get along.

As far as bashing goes, Didier just said how he sees it. If anyone doesn't like Didier and they like Rossi better, then vote for Rossi.

How else do you win a primary? By calling all the candidates equal?

I continue to stand prepared to vote for a conservative who runs against Patty Murray.

I have voted and worked for Dino Rossi. Dino Rossi is an honorable man for which I have a lot of respect. I’ll vote for him if he wins the primary and I’ll have no qualms about it.

If he wins, I will vote for him. But I’m pushing Didier to win, all the way
