Sarah Palin now lags Obama only 45-47 after showing deficits of eight or seven points in each of the last three months. Both Obama and Palin have increased their base support, but Palin now trails Obama among independents 39-46 versus 35-49 in March.
While voters are about evenly split about whether they support the Democrat or Republican in this year's congressional elections, the Republicans have opened up a 20 point "enthusiasm gap" when it comes to how eager they are to go to the polls, according to Gallup's daily tracking polls conducted between April 1-25.
There were no mentions of worthy 'Big Society' concepts, no vacuous 'vote blue, go green' slogans. Time worn, winning Tory messages were pitched; tougher immigration rules, tackling welfare dependency, lower business taxes, sound money and smaller government. Result? Clear win for the Tory leader.
“Ignominious charge of Death Panels”...that the Government has finally had to admit that they *do* exist! and that they *will* be “rationing Care” to senior citizens....
I didn't know that. She might be able to leverage that point to her advantage while sticking to her guns on "drill, baby, drill."

ExxonMobiles litigation compounded the suffering, especially for Cordova and Valdez fishermen. Court challenges stretched on for two decades. It took twenty years for Alaska to achieve victory. As governor I directed our attorney general to file an amicus brief on behalf of plaintiffs in the case, and, thanks to Alaskas able attorneys arguing in front of the highest court in the land, in 2008 the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in favor of the people. Finally, Alaskans could recover some of their losses.

Well, it wasn't entirely her doing but no doubt it helped.
Excellent idea, if she really wants to run, especially a visit with the very powerful and relatively conservative female Chancellor of Germany, Angela Merkel.
The polls show that independents especially think Sarah Palin is not strong on foreign policy. If Sarah Palin takes a trip to Europe and Israel to met with political leaders in the next 12 months, it will indicate to me that she is seriously thinking of running in 2012.
I think he favors keeping the pound sterling and staying out of the Euro. I do not think he favors withdrawal from the EU itself.
Agreed. I believe that line in the article may be in error, or perhaps oversimplified, as evidenced by this EU policy page from the Conservative Party
The Conservative Party - Policy - Where we stand - Europe
and also this page
The Conservative Party - News - News - A policy on Europe that people can believe in

3-D Glasses - Archie McPhee & Co.
These 3-D Glasses let you watch 3-D movies and read 3-D comics without looking like a total idiot. As a matter of fact, they are so stylish you might even consider wearing them all the time just in case something you encounter is meant to be viewed in 3-D. For anaglyph 3-D only. Two pair in each package. 3-D Glasses

Would you happen to know if your excellent Sarah Palin 3D photo is 'anaglyph'?
Well written article. Thank you for posting this - a very nice anecdote for PDS.
I'm delighted that you've found it to be worthwhile :-)
Thank you for providing the link to the 3D software, because now there is a chance that FReepers will be madly posting 3D Obama photos everywhere....although I'm thinking that the 2D versions are scary enough! Posting 3D Obama pictures may actually be against FR rules because I believe that they may frighten people.
At the developer's site, they show the type of glasses to be used with the software's altered photos:
so I'm guessing that any glasses of this type and lens color configuration will work. Thank you :-)
Again, as long as she continues to put effort into getting a pro-amnesty, pro-global warming, pro-campaign finance reform candidate reelected then she will continue to lose the support of more and more conservatives. She may be endearing herself to RINOs but at the expense of real conservatives.
PS-The mind is a terrible thing to waste.
“she will continue to lose the support of more and more conservatives”
You can quantify this then?
(you are most welcome)
Snow White vs The Seven Dwarfs:
The GOP is now widely known as Snow White vs The Seven Dwarfs with Sarah "Snow White" Palin leading such GOP Dwarfs as:
"Bashful" Romney
"Grumpy" Huckabee
"Sleepy" Pawlenty
"Doc" Gingrich
"Dopey" Thune
"Sneezy" Barbour
"Happy" Ron Paul.
“Again, as long as she continues to put effort into getting a pro-amnesty, pro-global warming, pro-campaign finance reform candidate reelected then she will continue to lose the support of more and more conservatives. She may be endearing herself to RINOs but at the expense of real conservatives.”
I disagree. Unless you view the term “real conservative” as being equivalent to “idiot.”
Presumably you’re referring to Sen. McCain? If she failed to support him, she would be perceived as disloyal. She’s in a no-win situation with regard to his re-election campaign. She’s doing the right thing under the circumstances.
Or maybe you’re referring to some other candidates whom you perceive as inadequately conservative? In which case perhaps you’d like to clarify whom you’re specifically talking about. As it stands, your comment reminds me of something out of “Rules for Radicals.”
