AP: The surveillance video shows an unidentified white man in his 40s slipping down an alley and taking off a shirt, revealing another underneath. In the same clip, he's seen looking back in the direction of the smoking vehicle and furtively putting the first shirt in a bag

Unless they have something better than this or can improve this over what we see here there is no way they can say thats a white male in his 40s.
There’s more meat on a Popeye’s Chicken neck bone than her whole arm.
Appears to me that they enhanced the contrast of that video, just looking at the images posted here. Notice the significant difference between black and white areas. They really enhanced the contrast.

What about Lee Van Cleef's alibi? I suppose he's still dead, too.
You would have to be out of your mind to admit to being that person. They would grill you like a steak. Only a fool would admit to being that person, innocent or not, innocent or not.
That said, there is nothing in the video that implies guilt and certainly the guys actions don't match what the commentator is so excitedly saying and the contrast of the film keeps the person's "race" from being determined.
They can use this: time square web cam
Richard Jewell all over again.
How about age? I know some pretty bald guys still in their 20’s.
What a hideous old fossil he is.
ROFL!
This just in! Pedestrian on NYC street takes off outer shirt on a 90 degree day in Midtown!!!
This is ridiculous. My heart goes out to that poor man that made the mistake of stopping to shed his sweater. He needs to stay underground.
Furtive? Anybody see furtive?
That’s not a woman, that’s a stick figure.
Yea, I thought that was a bit odd also. Could indeed be the guy that did it but you cannot objectivly ignore a possible conclussion that he was just hot and taking off a shirt.
Now if it is a T-shirt over another T-shirt, well I guess there are people that dress like that. But, it definately would fit a pattern of someone trying to change their look.
With that bit of back and forth, we can only wait until they find the guy to see what is reality. You not wanting to jump to conclusions is exactly the right way to be.
