The forgery was done to show just the opposite: that he was born in Colon, Panama, and not in a US Naval Base hospital.
However, Colon is also located within the Canal Zone and is, literally, a stone’s throw from the Coco Solo Sub station.
I was the one who pointed out that they were forgeries, and reported them on FR awhile back.
thanks for that, I saw that document, with the extra letters floating all over it, can’t find it again, and am furious with myself for not keeping a copy!
