Don't count your hatches before they chicken. So-called "Tea Party" candidates in various districts will siphon off enough votes to ensure a Democrat win in them.
I hope you are not correct, but I do worry. This is cultural war, plain and simple. The other side has no problem exploiting divisive issues to split the electorate in their favor. We should be doing the same. We should be supporting the candidacy of extreme left third party candidates in heavily dem districts to split the vote. The left has done this to us over and over.
The Ross Perot effect redux may well split the conservative vote in many Congressional races. Couple this with an anti-incumbent mind set (not pro GOP) among the voters, you may have 120 seats turn over in the House and Senate, but not all in favor of the Republicans. Another thing to consider is the economy. If there is any perceived (including smoke and mirrors)improvement in unemployment between now and November, fortune may not be too harsh on the rats.
No problem, all the RINO’s have to do is pretend to be sufficiently conservative until after the election as usual and you should get the result that you desire.
“So-called “Tea Party” candidates in various districts will siphon off enough votes to ensure a Democrat win in them.”
Could be... BUT, it seems a lousy choice for the avid Constitutionalists among the electorate, if all they have from which to choose is the Pubbies and the Rats; neither of them fully represent the tea party view.
I’ve heard the BS about the ‘damage’ done by having a third party in the mix. And, I don’t buy it. Every constituency deserves to be represented in the political discourse of the nation, fully and vocally. Will outcomes be impacted? Perhaps. But, the broadly accepted political philosophies will likely still win out.
If that means the libs continue prodding us on the mad march to marxism, then we have more work to do. But, it doesn’t mean one or the other group should compromise their beliefs, IMO.
That is why we need to make sure we REALLY RESEARCH the so called “Tea Party Candidates” in the Primary races. Some are nothing more than DEMS or RINO’s running against the REAL Constitutional Conservative in the race!
Perfect example, Tim Burns running against the REAL Conservative, Bill Russell in PA District 12.
The powers that be want a third party, "Tea Party".
Eff them and the people who would follow them.
