Both Marco Rubio and Charlie Crist appeared live on Friday's Today show, and both received the same question by NBC's Meredith Vieira, was Crist's departure from the GOP just another example of the Republicans being "intolerant" to moderates? In addition to advancing that liberal view of the Florida Senate race, Vieira also questioned if Rubio was being "manipulated" by the Tea Party, as seen in the following exchange:

Open season on RINOs. No bag limit.
Rubio has already vocalized his distaste for the AZ law. So the answer would be no.
FU, Viera.
Well, he had the correct answer thereMEREDITH VIEIRA: Do you feel you're being manipulated at all by the Tea Party? Because they're the ones that have sort of helped boost your numbers. You've become their darling.
MARCO RUBIO: Absolutely not. Well you know what? The Tea Party is just a collection of every day Americans, most of whom have never participated in politics before, who are tired of the direction of this country and want their voices heard. This is not a professional political movement. In fact, it's only a year old but I think it's been a good thing for American politics to see people get involved and have their voices heard. I'm proud of the, of the support they've given me. [audio availabe here]
Ditto... If I wrote what I said out loud after hearing that exchange this would no longer have any resemblance to a “family” site!!!
How insulting. There seems a racial slur connected with her questions.
Vieira does the liberal tool role well.
You know her exchange with Rubio doesn’t translate well to text. You need to hear her tone of voice when asking what sounds like the same question to Crist and Rubio - when it really wasn’t... With her exchange with Rubio you need to hear the hate spewing out of her mouth when she was saying that Crist leaving “shows /YET AGAIN/ that your party is /SO INTOLERANT/ that it doesn’t have room for a moderate voice”.
Rubio may not be perfect (in light of his statement on AZ), but I don’t think anyone can call him an idiot. He did a really good job of staying on message, and not allowing her to frame the issue although she was trying her hardest. ALL conservative candidates need to practice that skill. Forget the “softball” questions — they need to practice being slammed mercilessly and keeping their cool and getting to the heart of the argument.
Does your version include the words "scumsucking", "hyperflatulent", and "megatwit" like mine?
Meredith Vieirais is a frustrated leftist hag. Obviously she has an audience of some kind consisting of who knows. But between the two old hags meridith and joy whats-her-name, they make a fingernail on a chalk board seem appealing. But, obviously people like them because they are still on TV.
“They” don’t like either one of those twits, it is simply that the dying network doesn’t have anything else to put on except rereuns. ;)

The above mentioned hags are on TV because they are willing to campaign for the America hating leftists who run for office.
-PJHANNITY: A lot of — a lot has been made about your recent comments about the Arizona immigration law. And I want to ask you about it. You said you had concerns about this legislation. You said it could also unreasonably single out people who are here legally, including American citizens.
RUBIO: Right.
HANNITY: Do you not —
RUBIO: Well, let me —
HANNITY: Go ahead.
RUBIO: Yes. There's two separate issues. Number one is I don't blame the people of Arizona for what they've done. I was there a month and a half ago. I saw the people are afraid of the kidnapping and the horrible crimes that are happening. And this was a matter of time before something like this happened because the federal government has failed.
So Arizona has the right to do this, I understand why they're doing it. I don't blame them for doing it. I just don't think it's the best solution. I think the best solution to this problem is for the federal government to do its job. Is to finally — this is a wake-up call to finally take this issue seriously.
And here's my biggest fear. You're starting to see it happen already. This administration is going to try and use this as an excuse to force an amnesty bill down our throats which I'm not for.
So I don't blame Arizona for what they're doing. It's easy to sit back and criticize them when someone is in an air conditioned studio —
HANNITY: Yes.
RUBIO: — in New York or somewhere else. They've got to do what they think is right for Arizona. But the best solution to this problem is for the federal government to do its job.
HANNITY: What did you mean when you said it could unreasonably single out people who are here legally including American citizens? When you said that initial statement, because —
RUBIO: Right.
HANNITY: As you probably know, there's been a lot of discussion about those comments. And — because in particularly, this bill —
RUBIO: Sure.
HANNITY: — specifically says you cannot racially profile. So what do you mean by that?
RUBIO: I think as time goes —
HANNITY: Go ahead.
RUBIO: Well, I think as time goes on, you're going to hear stories about people that have been in this country for a long time and they got pulled over and they're going to claim it was because somebody thought they might had been illegal. And they're going to be upset about it.
It's an unintended consequence. It's not why the law was passed. And it's why I don't think it's the ideal way to deal with that. I think the ideal way to deal with it is to have border security so you don't have this violence pouring over the border.
But these are two separate issues. What Arizona did, they have a right to do. And I don't blame them for doing what they did because they have to live with this stuff. I'm saying that as a U.S. Senate candidate I want the federal government to take this seriously, to secure that border so that these crimes no longer cross over from Arizona.
HANNITY: Alright.
RUBIO: I'm sorry, from Mexico.
Only if "manipulated" = "voted for".
Thanks, no, not even with your ‘package’. Meredith Viera is an insufferable bitch.
I like this, too:
VIEIRA: And Mr. Rubio, one final question. You’ve, you’ve shown that image of, of the President and, and the governor repeatedly, basically to hammer home the point that you believe they are two peas in a pod. That’s when they were meeting, when the President came down to Florida to push the stimulus package. What would you have done if you were governor? Would you not accept the money? Your state is in big trouble.
RUBIO: That’s a false choice. It’s not about accepting the money or not accepting the money. It’s about what we should have done instead. There was a lot of better ideas other than the stimulus package. About meaningful tax cuts across the board that would have cost a lot less money and created a lot more jobs. What I’m reminding people of, is that the stimulus failed and there were better ideas out there that we should have done instead.
