Thanks, Hypo. These INTEL blurbs are typically prepared by the exercise control group to be trickled out to the command staff of the subject unit. For several days in advance of commencement of the exercise, the S2 will receive these things to prime the pump of the staff decision making process. Just before the exercise, the S3 will typically get a Warning Order from on high and shortly thereafter it will all kick off with receipt of the mission order from the next higher level HQ. With that the unit’s command group will initiate the MDMP and formulate an Operation Order to respond to the scenario.
