Governor Rell had asked for federal assistance to help individual homeowners and businesses hit hard by the storms. Yesterday she learned her request has been denied … by Mr Hope and Change himself … Obama.

Conneticut has the perfect profile for Obama and team to conclude they can ignore the people of that state.
1. High per capita income
2. Not many of “his kind of people”
3. Obama can crap on Conn but it’s a very blue state and will vote for Dems no matter what.

Not a word from Coward Courtney as far as I know. I’m in his district and had a wet basement with significant damage. My next-door neighbor got it worse, though. Entire basement was finished (mine only half) and he’s facing a clean-up/reconstruction bill of over $15k. Yikes.

Norwich Bulletin found Joe:

The assessment of U.S. Rep. Joe Courtney, D-2nd District, was blunt. “It’s a bad call,” Courtney said Tuesday. “The damage I saw in Norwich, Jewett City and North Stonington met any reasonable definition of severity and magnitude. I went into the Nutmeg Companies (in Norwich), where a wall collapsed. It looked like a war zone.” Jason Bugbee, owner of Nutmeg, a construction company on the Yantic River, was equally critical. “You hear so much about how small businesses are the thing that drive the economy, and the present administration doesn’t seem to care about anything but government,” he said. “If cities have suffered enough damage, how can homeowners and businesses not be affected? They care about everyone but the people who pay the taxes.” Cathy Frost, owner of the Curves for Women gym at 20 New London Turnpike in Norwich, had 30 inches of water in her business. “We have flood insurance, so that will cover some of the damage,” she said. “But (the denial) doesn’t make my life any easier.”

Any doubt had New Haven or Bridgeport been hit, the money would be pouring in from Obama?

Why should he care about CT? Are the voters there gonna start voting for Republicans after Rell’s request was rejected??

What happened to that Chris Dodd wannabe John Larson and the wicked withch of the east Rosa DeLauro?I haven't heard a peep out of either of those losers even though it's not their district that received most of the damage.

Connecticut polls pretty much mirrored presidential election results. Connecticut voters unaimously got exactly what they wanted. Anyone guessing how they'll vote (again likely) in November? I swear the whole east coast is braindead or indoctrinated to the point they cannot or will not see what damage they do to themselves.

USA Election Polls

Rasmussen Reports

Date: 10/14

Connecticut

Added: 10/16/08
Barack Obama 56%
John McCain 39%

It will be interesting to see if the First Idiot shoots down Haley Barbour's request for the disaster declaration. Yazoo City is in the southern part of Comrade Bennie Thompson's district.

They must have been all worn out from pushing and shoving to get their face on TV after the Middletown power plant explosion. It was a disgusting display of grabbing the spotlight. Kind of like cockroaches except in reverse.
