THE VILLAGES Karl Rove, chief political strategist for former President George W. Bush, today questioned a controversial new Arizona law designed to cut down on illegal immigration by making it a crime to not produce proof of citizenship when a law enforcement officer demands it.
Rove, speaking to a crowd of about 500 at the mammoth senior community as part of a national book tour, said that while the law is understandable, it does present difficulties. The law has become the nations toughest anti-immigration measure.
I think there is going to be some constitutional problems with the bill, he said to the standing-room-only crowd at the Colony Cottage Recreation Center. I wished they hadnt passed it, in a way.

STAY OUT DA BUSHES!!!
Rove, you bastard.
He is right in that there will be Constitutional arguments only in the sense that the national borders are a federal matter, not state. But of course, we know how interested the feds are in closing our borders, protecting the national security and stopping illegal immigration....(barf)
Shut up, Rove. Youre the main mush head reason we’re stuck with this Fascist.
i guess rove hasn’t figured out why bush’s stand on immigration
hurt him and the republican party. they are so out of touch.
Republicans are scared of the MSM/DNC/Hollwood/Academia war room.
As usual, we are on our own.
I can’t stand Rove.
Will that fat RINO please just go away?
They are coming out of the woodwork, Rubio did (at least thats what I heard) what is so scary about this law, help me understand. Seems to me Arizona is just trying to save their state. geez
I wonder does Rove even know what the law does? Hey Rove, it’s just enforcement of federal law. You know, what you and Bush promised would be doen in 2007.
I wonder does he know that green card holders right now have to produce their papers when stopped by LEO? I have a friend who has a green card, she has to produce her green card every time the LEO says something like license and registration.
Imagine this...five thousand leftists arrive in Arizona over the weekend and every time a cop asks who they are...the response is “Juan Lopez”...with no ID on them. In fact, folks could walk up to the cops and insist they are illegal...and crush the state’s law enforcement system easily.
The Federal Government admits it incompetent to its Federal duty of protecting against invasion, but seeks to prevent a State from fending for itself.
The Feds can't have it both ways.
He has never met an illegal he did not like..after all they cut his lawn and wash his cars at dirt cheap cost ..
I would not buy his book on a bet, and I am tired of fox news giving him time..
Go home Rove !
Well what part of the federal law does he have a problem with?
Now I am officially an extremist. I am to the right of Carl Rove.
From the bottom of my heart. F you Karl.
So, it’s a crime not to produce identification when a cop requests it. But that doesn’t apply to citizenship?
OTH, I still can see a lot of “Cheech Marins” being stuck on the wrong side of the border because they didn’t have a birth certificate in their pocket.
Seriously, if a cop asked you today to prove you’re a citizen, what document would you show to convince him?
Bob Krentz already paid for your crimes
Rove who? The same punk who tried to push shamnesty on
us, when the not-so Republican president was in office?
That Rove?
