The growing rift between the Obama administration and Israel, coupled with the administration's failure to rein in Tehran's nuclear program, has increased the chances that the Israelis will eventually launch an attack on Iran, experts said.
"U.S.-Israeli relations are at their lowest point since ... the early '80s," said Ilan Berman, vice president of the American Foreign Policy Council. "It has a lot to do with the fact that Israel thinks this administration is not serious about preventing a nuclear Iran. What is Israel going to do? I'm not certain one way or another. But from the rhetoric, there will come a determining point."
Berman said Israel "could wait and see if sanctions would work, [but] if Israel feels threatened it would strike first before allowing a nuclear Iran."
"If I had to put down odds, I think I would [bet on] the latter," he added.

Burden yourself with the truth, won't you?
1) We didn't send in Marines to die in Beruit, Lebanon while Reagan was our C-in-C.
2) We didn't empty our arsenals of American weapons, so Israel could survive in 1973.
3) Nope, after hundreds of billions of dollars in financial aid over 62 years adjusted for inflation.
4) The USA didn't purchase peace between Israel and Egypt with our pocketbooks. That sham continues to date. Both Israel and Egypt must be laughing their collective asses off at our stupidity!
You didn't bother to ask me, so I'll pre-empt your second strike. I support the nation of Israel. What I can't endure is all of the arrogant attitude Israel has toward our country. They should be grateful for our 'special relationship. I'm all for supporting them, but please spare me all of this nonsense about Israel standing alone, we have carried them on our broken backs Ruffian.
I don’t see any “wars fought” in your list, which was your claim.
We went into Beirut in 1983 to cover Arafat’s retreat. That was hardly for Israel’s benefit. I do agree that both Israel and the USA would be better off without the “special relationship” It reminds me too much of special education.
That’s a curious way to put it: “Risk grows that Israel will go it alone”. Who’s risk?
It is Israel’s very survival at risk. Is Onada so stupid as to think Israel will not do what it must to protect itself.
If there is any risk, it is risk to US national security because of Onada’s abandonment of Israel.
I case you werent been paying attention we have been at war with Iran since 1979 when they attacked our embassy and took our people hostage. They have been a global state sponsor of terrorism ever since. In more recent years they have sent material support and personnel directly to out battlefields in Afghanistan and Iraq resulting in the deaths of countless of our military service members and local civilians. They are working to establish a presence in South America to exploit our southern border. They are working to build weapons of mass destruction in direct violation of the IEA and UN sanctions and have threatened the destruction of Israel and the US. Heck they even threatened Sweden the other day.
The fact that we are already at war is undeniable if you open your eyes. Israel has nothing to do with it, we merely share the same enemy.
Bebe is being pushed into that position.
I have faith that Israel will NOT let themselves be attacked again. Syria better get a grip on thir actions, also.
Israel will act alone, because we have a pansy and pillow biter in the White House, pure and simple.
It’s the old newsie editor in me. Love to edit headlines and copy to make them right.... and Right.
BTW, got to talk to you about that log-on name......
Be well :)
Refresh my memory please. Who was President in the early 80's? It started with a "C"...anyone? Anyone?
Gee, I hope the risk is increasing.
We are defending and protecting Afghan warlords who take 9-year old ‘dancing boys’ as sexual slaves in Afghanistan.
All the Israelis did was treat Palestinians like people instead of animals and they have had nothing but grief for it since.
Funny we don’t hear a word about Jordan’s slaughter of hundreds of Palis in the 1970’s.
It’s those eEeevil Jooooos.
Given Obozo’s origins and the Chicago political horse he rode in on, it’s hard to believe that the great pretender is as naive as he acts. He has proven to the world that he has no executive skills. His “let’s give peace a chance” campaign act has long lost credibility save for a few who still worship at the altar.
The fool is a bewildering combination that should make anyone with a lick of sense, and self respect, deeply suspicious. He’s undoubtedly psychologically unbalanced. His actions towards Israel come from some deep seated antisemitism. No other explanation makes sense.
If youd like to be on or off, please FR mail me.

White South Africa committed suicide under sanctions. But Iran is not made up of Afrikaners.
Too bad that Obama sided with the muslim dictator rather than helping these poor people:

Obama is a ball-less muslim POS IMO
I’m going to laugh my ass off if Israel runs a mission in Iran in which there is no military attack against the population but rather they just take out A-jad and the Ayatollahs. Wouldn’t it be ironic if Israel sets Iran’s people free?
Just as well. The odds are steep enough without giving our back to Barack Hussein & co. on top of everything else.
Watch for an Israeli strike against those scud launchers/sites as a prelude to the attack against Iran...
although I would say it’s a prelude of hours rather than days.
Let’s make it easy for you.
1) We were in Beirut so Israel could retreat from Lebanon with honor! That was the Lebanese Civil War fought by another of Israel’s proxies, BTW!
2) The Yom Kippur War was bought and paid for by the USA.
3) see previous post, we bought off Egypt, so Israel could have peace.
4) We have proped up Israel with our treasure and blood.
What part of the battles/wars aren’t you clear on now?
“We have got to STOP fighting Israel’s battles. “
neurosyphilis?
Your name calling response is all that remains for you. Your baby like response replaces any serious discussion about a 62 year old foolish American foreign policy.
Can you think of anymore snide remarks? Gonna throw the F-bomb? Are you gonna call me a Nazi, or a Holocaust denier, a anti-semite. That's all you've got left. Go for it!
