Prosecutor urges jurors to convict student in Palin e-mail trial (Jury to Deliberate tomorrow)

KNOXVILLE - A federal prosecutor today urged jurors to convict a former University of Tennessee student of unlocking to the world the door on conservative political star Sarah Palin's private Yahoo! e-mail account.

"'I leave it to you,'" prosecutor Mark Krotoski said, quoting David C. Kernell's message on an Internet discussion board. "'I'm not going to ruin someone's life' but I'll give you the key, the pass(word). Instantly individuals from around the United States and around the world are in the account. That's what he wanted."

But defense attorney Wade Davies countered that Kernell guessed using publicly available information his way into the account and posted a new password merely to prove himself to disparaging posters on the discussion board.

"David Kernell shouldn't have even tried that," Davies said. "But what he did was closer to a prank than a crime. He made some stupid decisions to ... gain acceptance."

“But what he did was closer to a prank than a crime.”

Except that his father is deep into dimoKKKRAT politics. IMHO that leaves the prank out of it.

Kernell is charged with four felonies including identity theft that carry a maximum possible penalty of 50 years in prison

50 Years is a stiff sentence, one that needs to be shortened, if he is convicted. I would be all for 49 years and 364 days, provided he was on good behaviour.

“to gain acceptance.”

That's the same reason the intercity kids give for robbing a store or killing someone.

It doesn't matter why he did something. The fact is, He did it!

yeah, so why didn’t he pull this prank on someone whose acceptance he sought instead of Sarah Palin?

I frequent the Yahoo Stock Message Boards this clown posted this crap on, and they are home to several actually INSANE and DANGEROUS, MURDERING leftists.

Since 2003, they were frequented by by Carlos Hartmann, the Gay lib from Michigan that chopped an innocent Dane to death in Amsterdam, with an axe, on a train platform, because he couldn’t find a U.S. Soldier to kill.

Talovic, the Salt Lake City Mall killer...

The now dead John Bedell, who shot up the Pentagon a few weeks ago...

And Vikrahm Buddhi, the Purdue Grad student/ employee, who is currently serving 7 years in federal prison for hacking the Yahoo ID’s of several THOUSAND Purdue students and staff, and and using them to spam the Yahoo boards with MILLIONS of Anti-Bush, pro-Kerry messages during the 2004 cycle, and was finally arrested when he called for the death of President Bush.

An important note to keep in mind is that there ACTUALLY ARE mentally unbalanced, crazy, and dangerous “liberals” out there in the internet. I’ve even been stalked by a couple.

This is just news you will NEVER see on the evening news, because it doesn’t fit the leftist/gay media agenda.

No, it was and is a crime. Breaking into someone's email is a crime. It's not a prank or a joke. If he did it to "gain acceptance", then I'm sure he'll be happy to make lots of new friends in prison.

The fact that his own lawyer admits that he's an idiot doesn't help his case any. If he's so stupid as to not know that breaking into someone's email is a serious crime, he needs to be in prison for his own protection. Anyone that dumb is at constant risk of sticking their tongue in every outlet they walk past.

The fact that he admitted he was disappointed he didn't find anything incriminating in the emails should be enough to show malice. He wasn't looking for a prank, he was looking to damage Palin.

He need to serve prison time. Had someone posted private info on Obama that put his family at risk the media would have already condemned the person without a trial.

There is no good way out of this for him.

He is either so inconsiderate and self-obsessed that only a prison sentence will knock some sense into him; or he’s a lying liar who did it with malice and no regard for our laws.

Either way, any American who manages to reach their legal majority and not understand that breaking into private property is a bad idea, deserves whatever they get in spades.

This moron doesn’t even have the decency of a common street thug. He wasn’t above bragging about his crimes and shared Palin’s private information on the internet. What a loser.
