Of course you can have your opinion that the joke was not correct, lame etc.. and think jokes should be kept to a minimum. Just keep that in mind when a future Republican appointed official tells a lame joke. However, that does not get to the point.

The point is that he was not trying to be anti semitic, he was not catering to the muslim community etc.. as some have alledged. That is a demeaning of his character that is not deserved given his long service to this country. If anything, a man of General Jones stature should be given the benefit of the doubt. He is one of the few and I mean very few (possibly the only one) in the Obama administration that is a good guy not out to destroy our country and way of life as we know it.

Very interesting OPINION of yours - not agreed with by many on the thread (as to his being helpful to Middle East policy)...
Yes, his service is admirable - I happen to come from a military background (service - 29+ yrs) but that doesn’t mean the guy can’t be a twit, wrong-headed, mis-guided and part of the problem in this highly problematic admin...
Service to country doesn’t mean a free pass on lousy foreign policy...and speeches... Don’t get me going on Joe Sestak....
