“The law makes illegal immigration a state crime.”

I can see the problem. We can’t have illegal activities being considered illegal.

Don’t give a damn if they are young or old, man or female.
If you got your start here by breaking the law then chances are you are not going to change your law breaking ways.
Round em ALL up and send em packing.

They won’t be arrested if they are obviously American. Speaking good English and having valid ID and home address would likely make any encounter a minor inconvenience; minor, that is, to all except the open-borders crowd. Good citizens should not take offense to this law.

Kittens, puppies and baby seals are also at “risk”. ROTFL!!! Gordon is a moron. It’s time the boy goes home to spend “more time with the family”.

Notice that the protest signs are in Spanish. Who are they talking to?

Look who is against what the Governor signed in yesterday.

A major Ron Paul hack

Andrew Napolitano said
...This will be a disaster for Arizona — to say nothing of the fact that it’s so unconstitutional that I predict a federal judge will prevent Arizona from enforcing it as soon as they attempt to do so

All those mentioned are free to go back where they came from if they don’t want to be arrested.

If they are here illegally, then they should be arrested no matter what their age.

Let’s face it, the problem is the fact that this has been going on for 25 or more years and the horse is long out of the barn. This is going to be a painful, ugly experience to correct the problem with lots of errors and name calling (and worse) on both sides. At least with the braceros program after WWII the laws were enforced and although it took time, were effective. The other problems are the amount of fraud (stolen or misused SS numbers), medical, educational and social benefits granted to illegals that cost the taxpayers 100’s of billions of dollars over the past 25 years and the cost of housing illegals in prisons, etc. If we could send them all back, and send the bill to their respective countries, great, but it’s probably not going to happen. If the U.S. sealed the border, and employers didn’t look the other way, and the public sector didn’t allow these people access to medical and educational benefits they weren’t allowed, they wouldn’t be here. There’s plenty of people to blame, but in the meantime, it’s time to start fixing the problem and there is going to be a helluva of a lot of screaming, pain, mistrust and yes, probably violence. Get ready for it. It’s like letting the cancer get to Stage 4 and you finally realize drastic action has to occur or the patient (the U.S. of A. as we knew it) is about to die.

It is way too soon to see how this is going to play out, but the state may find itself caught between a rock and a hard place by either not profiling and hassling a lot of Anglo and black citizens who don’t carry proof of being citizens with the result of a great outcry to rescind the law, or profiling and concentrating on Hispanics with similar problems of hassling the innocent and inviting court intervention. If I’m intent on passing through and I’m a gringo, is a driver’s license going to be enough or am I wise to get a certified birth certificate?

OK this is easy even for a far lefty dumb arse.

they are here ILLEGALLY they know they are ILLEGAL, they KNOW they are in violation of the law and therefore they know they can be arrested for breaking the law

is it any wonder why the country looks at the far left as uneducated and stupid.

I came here LEGALLY, I RESPECTED the LAW, I knew I shpould be LEGAL or I would be ARRESTED.
I waited to have kids until I was staying here and waited to have some money so I do not have to wait for the Govt to bring my KIDS up

Mayor.
If you cannot understand or have the law enforced then you need to step down

Most recently, the Mayor has engaged in a verbal dispute with Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio over issues related to illegal immigration.

Gordon sweeps mayor’s race, sales tax increase passes

******

It’s been said in political circles that Phoenix Mayor Phil Gordon has been under a tremendous amount of stress in both his personal and public lives.

Gordon has also come under scrutiny for the way he’s been conducting business in the Mayor’s Office, namely by entangling his girlfriend with official matters.

Gordon has also come under scrutiny for the way he’s been conducting business in the Mayor’s Office, namely by entangling his girlfriend with official matters.

When city officials provided some of the same public records last year, the calendar revealed that on at least two occasions, Gordon’s girlfriend Elissa Mullany was the contact person for a dinner between the mayor and Phoenix developer Steve Ellman.

While Mullany was working for Ellman and dating Gordon, Ellman sat in on economic-development presentations in the mayor’s office. A few employees where there, including the director of the city’s Community and Economic Development Department. Mullany was also at the September 23 meeting.

Ellman also was part of a Phoenix delegation that went to Mexico City to explore investment options. They met with the Secretary of Foreign Affairs in Mexico City and later with a family member of Mexico billionaire Carlos Slim.

Mayor Phil Gordon’s girlfriend landed on mega-Phoenix developer Steve Ellman’s payroll in 2009, political insiders confirm.

Elissa Mullany, who started dating Gordon in early 2008, spent time in City Hall arranging meetings and making phone calls on behalf of Ellman. Gordon directed staffers to “tell Elissa to do this” or “tell her not to do that” because Ellman is going to be calling her, a source tells New Times.

Records also show that Ellman was included in meetings with foreign dignitaries and tagged along with Gordon on at least one trip to Mexico.

On July 28, Ellman and Gordon met with Abdullah Saleh Al Jum’ah, the CEO of Saudi Arabia at the Royal Palms Resort and Spa. And during a trip to Mexico City on September 29, Gordon apparently met up with Ellman, according to his calendar.

During that trip, Gordon, and presumably Ellman, met with family members of Mexico billionaire Carlos Slim.

Gordon repeatedly has touted these trips as a way to grease the wheels for foreign investments to come to Phoenix. But the ties between Gordon, Mullany, and Ellman raise questions about the true motivation behind his globetrotting.
