2 Two London editions of Emmerich de Vattel’s The Law of Nations were in circulation at this time: a 1759—;60 edition in 2 vols., and a 1760 edition in one.
But that 1759/60 edition was a poor translation, at least in section 212, the natural born citizen section, and does not contain the words, natural born citizen. But every 1793 and later translation does. The original French uses the term Naturels, which can be translated as "natural ones" or just "naturals, and the term "Indigenes", which translates as "natives". All this in a section about "Citoyens", citizens. Not hard to get from there to "natural born citizen".
