Savage’s line of the day:

“000bama is practicing the Presidency without a license.”

You heard it on TSN first.

Man, I agree with Savage so much today. It's like watching a pre-WWII documentary, with the buildups, the polarization, the rhetoric, the criminal hate groups, and the government does nothing. Actually the government is doing worse than nothing, it's preventing law-abiding citizens from doing something about it. Can't say more without violating posting rules.

I was listening to the Wallbanger the other day, and he’s laughable. Went on and on about how he needs security and is in constant danger when on the road raising money at his country and western flag waving concerts. He’s both encouraging it and enjoying it. Can’t bill Fox for a bulletproof escalade without credible threats you know.

Savage is very good at blending words, called portmanteau words and his puns are pretty good but he did not invent them all.

A cursory Internet search -- yes I research every one of his claims of theft -- reveals caffeinated Tea Party originated almost from the beginning. There's even a CaffiNation portmanteau.

OTH, that's minor and ego(?) -- the important thing is what makes Savage so important; to wit, I greatly respect Dr. Savage for his guts to speak out forcefully on matters foreign and domestic, more guts than any other talk show host that I know of since Joe Pyne.

Quote from Jamaican female caller:

She loves the show because “the truth has no friend”.

You seem to spend an inordinate amount of time fact-checking Savage’s claims to popular phrases and wishing he was something that he’s not. You can always switch to the golfer.

Sorry ‘bout that.

It has been a somewhat disastrous month for me.

I am seriously contemplating selling my house. I am not sure I can continue to afford to maintain it. Cost out a new sewer from where the pipe enters the basement floor out to the street. 20 ft of concrete in the basement + 40-50 feet to the street, 10 foot down.

I had it done and my 401k is a lot less now.

New sump pump is running every few minutes in current wet weather. I get home today and there is a sunken area near the foundation where the new sewer runs. Bad fill or sinkhole?

New sump is now draining a lot further away from the house. (this what I was mickey mousing the last hour or so. basement is dry, but sump is pretty full)

Will have the plumbing company out to look at sunken area

End of whining. :)

On the plus side, my internets connection isn’t blipping out today, even though we have had heavy rain and slushy snow falling today.

I started listening to Limbaugh when he started here in Sacramento in 1983 (84?).

I started listening to Savage shortly after he started on San Francisco's KSFO (1995 I believe it was) and never missed a minute through the rest of the 1990's and have listen virtually every day since then but not every minute.

The Savage that I remember from the 1990s was less focused on self and self-admiring statements. I understand repeated references to education and background -- new listeners happen hourly.

I love puns and portmanteau words and respect the actual originator.
