The term progressive goes back much farther in US history than 1948........to before the turn of the 19th century....progressives weren’t liberals/socialists/communists back then.......

While attending a Townhall meeting this past summer, I was assualted by a lady wearing a “Progressive Democrats for America” t shirt........
I had asked her about the organization, and she described it in glowing terms.... when I said that “Progressive was a term most often used by Socialists and Communists groups, which one are you? She blew up and punched me.......LOLOLOLOL

I was in Phoenix a few weeks ago. The amount of spanish signage is impossible to ignore. I'm not talking about the occasional billboard or advertising. I'm talking school banners and marquees, apartment rental offices. A middle school near my old house in Glendale appears to be Spanish only now.
Watching the news earlier after the Gov's press conference, there was a large crowd being used as the the reporters backdrop. All appeared to be Latino High Schoolers.

I do not know. He said he was more concerned about the country than the GOP.
The real question is, will this motivate an already open border/pro Illegal democrat voting pool to not vote Republican. Since the GOP weren't going to get them anyway the answer is, who cares. Also, keep in mind, there are a ton of Dem and Independent voters who are equally furious over Illegal Immigration. As such, this more likely to help the GOP.

I could never understand why the liberals changed their name to progressives. Anyone familiar with American history would know that the Progressive Party of the 1940s was synonomous with the Communists. They were far left.
I started typing more than 40 years ago and I’ve rightfully been using ALL CAPS for emphasis, long before all caps meant shouting. I’m not about to change now.

The label is not being used solely by Democrats. Meghan McCain labeled herself a progressive Republican. And yes, I would say that any Republican with, for instance, a New World Order agenda, is a Progressive, the source of which, I believe, is the bipartisan CFR.
