There are several alternatives to this provision.

1) file a “quick claim deed” whereby the new owner accepts all leins and other abatement issues.

2) in that quick claim deed list the sale price as $0. ( all perfectly legal to not have to disclose the sale price)

3) lower the sale price to below the threshold and add balance of net value to the sales contract as buybacks.

Tried to. The Rinopublican party did not back the conservative in the primary. I skipped the Senate section in the November election.

Another way, collect on the insurance.

That's the difficulty with all these schemes to control how people buy and sell their homes. If the process is made too difficult, they stop doing that and do something else.

Everyone needs to build a small room in their basement by constructing a wall... leave out one column of bricks to be filled in later...
When the inspector arrives, follow him around until you get to the basement, and when he asks what's back there, you say "a cask of amontillado"

I am calling this provision Kelo on steroids. The houses in that case were designated as “blighted properties” just because they did not have central air conditioning and attached garages. This raises the stakes significantly.

Down the road watch for vast amounts of houses bulldozed because they are not “green” enough, the property confiscated, and the people herded into Soviet style apartment blocks.

Snopes is run by a husband and wife team, both who are flaming liberals. They have be caught lying when it is advantageous to the Liberal Cause. Instead of Snopes, Conservatives now use Truth or Fiction: http://www.truthorfiction.com/

Not just hat, the bill calls for all wood burning stoves to be destroyed. Cannot sell them or get rid of them on your own either. Another govt agency to destroy them for you!

Doesn’t matter. I had a large fabric and steel building erected. It had zero haz materials in it so no enviromental inspection was required when it went up. When it collapsed, and I wished to demo it I had to buy an enviromental inspection for asbestos which cost me a couple of hundred bucks and delayed the demo a couple of weeks. Don’t believe that asbestos has even been allowed to be used in construction for many years, BUT no matter. Shut up and pay up.
It’ll be the same. Spend umpteen thousands to bring it up to snuff so you can demo it.

Was listening to Mark Steyn filling in for Rush this morning. A lady called in who claimed to be reading the text directly from the bill. Among the provisions she read: All wood and pellet-burning stoves are required to be destroyed. Any property owner planting a tree must file annual reports for the next five years as to the health of said tree. In other words, as Steyn said, trees will be wards of the state for five years.

They want to tell you how to do everything, all the time. I doubt it’s a hoax. They will be making us wear little Mao jackets pretty soon.

All wood and pellet-burning stoves are required to be destroyed. Any property owner planting a tree must...

I heard that too.

Just not sure I believe it. Just because someone claims to have read from a particular Bill, doesn't mean they actually have, or properly interpreted what they did read.

I have to wonder who is going to drive around and inspect for the stoves, and who is going to receive the tree reports. I mean, I dunno about anyone else, but I have plenty to do, and don't need more to do.

Our only hope is to turn off the Televisions, and seriously talk with people that are too busy, too trusting, too complacent to pay attention to what is happening. As Americans we are a law abiding people, so first we must fight within our principles.

Here on Free Republic most all of us agree on conservative principles. We must not simply talk to like minded people but to also talk sense and facts to the (really ignorant, brainwashed) masses that does not realize what is happening..

Revolution is fighting our own. Many are lost. Look what happened in the Civil War ... being brave, eager and right did not bring victory to the south ... to this day. First things first.

We must win this next election, And pray that we do. Then we can reverse some of this subversive, oppressive, enslaving legislation, with the lessons well learned that we must be ever vigilant!!!!!!!!!! MO.

What the heck? How can they do this?

Some of us heat with wood. What will the Amish do?

This is nuts for those of us living in northern US, where power outages make back up wood stoves a sensible requirement.

What about fireplaces? Are these to be dismantled/destroyed too? I just don’t believe it!

We already have to get numerous inspections. This will be another inspection to add to the already lengthy list. It sounds bad but it always does when it is first stated. I am sure that when the first year when cars had to be registered and inspected it caused turmoil, but now look it is part of life and the inspection is a good thing because it ensures that your car is safe for your family.
