There was always something eerie about the way the Democrats said their health-care legislation was what the American people had waited "70 years" for. Invoking the ghosts of 1939 was kind of creepy. Then when the moment in history finally arrived, history got no votes from the other party. Whatever the politics, there was something ominous about all this. One felt something else was going on.

Dems voted for Obama in a religious-like frenzy, and are driven to Change The World. Logic, rationality and what the damned PEOPLE want means nothing to them--they've been waiting to Take Power for decades, and cannot wait for those silly People--they will change the world and, once they've done that, their lives will have meaning. They will be written about in the way MLK, Bobby and JFK are, as Legends, not (ick!) "people".
They don't care about anything else.

In 1994 when the Democrats lost over 50 House seats at mid-term, the party's favorable rating was 62%, and for the Congress they controlled it was 53%. They still got killed. Now the party's favorable is 38% and Congress's approval is 25%. The Republicans' numbers are low, too, but they're not in charge. Bring it.
However, we all better be prepared for what these filthy crapsters and their sycophants will try to pull in November. They will not go quietly. They will never let something as pedestrian as an American election stand in their way. And they have an utterly slavish, sycophantic media who will cover and obfuscate every last criminal act they commit.

The Democrats (and their Republican pilot fish) could get away with this. Not now...... "their Republican pilot fish" .. Wonderful metaphor.

I know you're correct in your assessment of the DemocRATS, but, I just have to believe that the "corruption" of the Election will be minimal. I've got to believe that, other than in a few "pockets" of the process (Chicago and other thug infested, electoral ghettos), most poll workers are honest people. I've worked a few elections and people on both sides, even Democrats, were good-natured, honest people, just terribly mislead and "traditonalized". But, then, I'm in Texas.
Whaddya think; honestly?
