Well, hm. I've never heard this angle before, but it makes total, creepy sense. An EPA study published February 16 in Environmental Science & Technology (pdf of study here) found that a marked increase in the incidence of autism began in 1988. See its table above; click to enlarge. The study found, "Although the debate about the nature of increasing autism continues, the potential for this increase to be real and involve exogenous environmental stressors exists." According to the April newsletter of the Sound Choice Pharmaceutical Institute, this is the year the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices added a 2nd dose of the MMR vaccine to its recommendations. SCPI found 3 "change points" in autism trends - 1981, 1988, and 1995. And here is what correlated to those years:

a lot of hysteria, because I’m old enough to remember when autistic kids were diagnosed as “retarded” or “childhood schizophrenia” and put into institutions.
An alternative theory: neurotic helicopter parents cause autism.
Could be for the same reason babies, children - adults - get, or do not necessisarily, the same response when exposed to any virus. . .or allergen. Immune systems vary per strength. And just as we know 'boy' babies more susceptible to some things moreso than the females; red haired/blonde and blue eyed children more 'inclined' to have certain issues - than their brown-eyed counterparts.
All to say, it may well be, just a genetic composition or hearty or less so, immune system when child is vaccinated. (Might be just how 'body' is at the moment. Recovering from a cold? Another illness? A bit run down or not - as to all the aforementioned.)
We know that people are not equal per their resistance to disease.
Is it possible as well, that these vaccines might 'vary' even the slightest in strength; or by manufacturer variables. . .
