A World Airways cargo jet was grounded in Belgium today and its engines are currently being inspected.
Obviously, if volcanic ash is found, or any damage from ash, that could send ripples through the aviation industry.
The plane was not diverted: "It landed normally at Ostende, its intended destination," World Airways spokesman Steve Forsyth tells us by email.

As someone who has been in the airline industry with a major airline for 25 years, I find that to be a wild-assed statement.
Right, because a plane has never crashed because an airline or airlineS have skimped on safety in favor of profitability. /s
I can't give you one reason why what I said might be accurate, but I can give you 400 million reason - each day.
Your strawmen aside, the industry as a whole does not ‘lose a plane’ the individual airline does.
Apparently hyperbole appeals to you. But if your scenario actually played out, no one would be buying tickets even if the airlines were flying. And they would not be, the maintenance personnel and/or the pilots themselves would ground the airplanes if the management or the FAA did not step in.
Obviously you dont have a clue on what you are talking about, what you said is not accurate at all. And this is an insulting game you are playing IMO.
