From an Israeli pov, that's not a very reassuring response and a message not to go it alone, or at least not without getting US permission first.
Have a hard time picturing the USAF shooting down IAF aircraft . . .

1. The CJCS is named
"Admiral Mike Mullen" 2. The question reminds me of the of SNL skit Desert Storm Press Briefing:
Reporter #1: What date are we going to start the ground attack?
Lt. Col. William Pierson: Well, as I mentioned a moment ago, there are certain sensitive areas which we are just not going to go into, and that is certainly one of them. Yes?
Reporter #2: Sir, knowing what you know, where would you say our forces are most vulnerable to attack, and how could the Iraqis best exploit those weaknesses?
Lt. Col. William Pierson: Well, again, this falls into the area of information that might be useful to the enemy, and I just can't divulge it right now.
Reporter #3: Sir! Which method of hiding SCUD missiles is working best for the Iraqis?
Lt. Col. William Pierson: Now, this again is a good example of information that could help the enemy, and I just can't answer that.

Although Hussein would very much *want* Israeli jets shot down there’s no way he’d allow it.The $hitstorm that would result...both internationally *and* domestically....would be something that even *Hussein* wouldn’t allow.

USAF would read about it the next day on Drudge. Nobody caught the Syria attack except IAF let Syria think they shot down a fake radar image.

I’ll say it right now, before anything happens (because more and more looks like it will).
I will not support any US troops that willingly engage in military action against Israel.
I stand with Israel.

2 years ago I had a hard time imagining much of what has become the “New Reality” of the “Comrade Zero era”.
I now believe it is a grave error to underestimate or dismiss anything from the “man-child wannabe king” or his regime.

The Chairman is in the Navy, not the Army. The Chairman’s name is Mike Mullen, not Mike Malen. Who wrote this?

That headline is a really deceptive spin on the answer the General gave. Just because he wouldn’t say it at a public forum doesn’t mean such a promise hasn’t already been given or won’t be winked at in the future.

If it was me, I'd task fighters to escort the IAF.
It's not getting directly involved.

Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the U.S. Army, Mike Malen The U.S. Army Chief of Staff is General George Casey. The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs is Admiral Michael Mullen. Which of these was it? Or neither?

I have seen this administration’s seeming attempt at giving the enemies of Israel an ear, but this leads me to believe that we are on the way to becoming Israel’s enemy. LORD God forbid.

This is a great reason for Israel to launch nuclear weapons against Iran, especially from a sub.
I wouldn’t have a problem with that.
