Makes me nervous, albeit not for the reason youd think.
On the upside? Supreme Court nominee clusterfark + national meltdown over amnesty = best traffic month evah.
President Barack Obama called Massachusetts new Republican senator, Scott Brown, from Air Force One today to deliver some news: Democrats are moving forward with an immigration overhaul in a month.
Alluding to the issue a few minutes later, Brown clarified what he told Obama. When I said I have an open mind, it means I have an open mind to read the bill, he said. That doesnt mean that I will vote for granting amnesty to anyone. But I want to be respectful to the president and to any member who brings me a proposal.
After winning health care and advancing financial re-regulation, many Democrats thought the presidents big legislative agenda would be winding down. Election season is beginning, a Supreme Court nomination fight is at hand, and Democrats dont lack for accomplishments, just political support. But Schumer has argued strongly that they should move forward with a broad overhaul of immigration laws, including a tough crack-down on border security and a path to citizenship for the estimated 11 million illegal immigrants already in the country.
Didnt Harry Reid tell us just a week ago that immigration was going nowhere this year? I think he did, and notwithstanding todays news, I think hes right. And a lot of people who are in the know think so too:

I don’t trust Brown. Hopefully, he will earn it.
Brown sounds like a supporter of Illegal Alien Amnesty....why in the world would Obama call a GOP senator if he was not going to be a potential supporter of Illegal Alien Amnesty
Why not piss off the entire country instead of just the 80% that are pissed now.
How much do you want to bet Dick Armey double-crosses the Tea Party movement? Armey (and Grover Nordquist) are totally in bed with proponents of amnesty. The Wall Street Journal will chime in too calling Tea Partiers racist.
20 million new unemployed citizens. Awesome!
//sarcasm
The Republicans BETTER open their mouths, they better run ads, with such a high unemployment rate we’re going to legalize how many people? Also someone needs to start running ads about this on urban radio, with unemployment in the 30% range for black males? they need to know that this is going on.
Obama is just too dumb to know when enough is enough. The only reason he might be trying this now is he knows he won’t have a majority in one or both houses come the new year. Hell, hes even going to lose McCain on the other side of the aisle.
People have got to have their objectives clear. For one thing, Obama and the gang don’t want more Hispanic immigration: they want Muslim immigration, and the bill is going to be heavily weighted towards people from Africa and the Middle East.
There are, unfortunately, some FReepers who hate Hispanics and Catholics, and they should get a grip, because what Obama wants is something much worse. We should definitely crack down on any illegal immigrant - Latin American, African, European or Middle Eastern - but this bill is going to be about increasing LEGAL immigration from groups we do not want in this country: Muslims.
I wish we had corrected Bush but let him go ahead with a bill at that time. What we’re going to be presented with now is going to be a thousand times worse, and it’s going to be directed at filling our country with Muslims.
Wanted:
A Few Good FReepers!
What do I mean by "A few good FReepers wanted?"Well, we are currently delivering over 1.2 million pageviews to over 230,000 visitors per day. That's 40 million pageviews to 7 million visitors per month or 120 million pageviews per quarter, 480 million pageviews per year. We currently have over 330,000 registered screen names on FR. Out of these millions of visits, hundreds of millions of pageviews and hundreds of thousands of registered FReepers and hundreds of thousands of regular lurkers only a relatively FEW actually donate the funds to keep FR alive.
Now I'm not complaining because we've always managed to meet our fundraising goals in the past, but it is taking longer and longer to accomplish the task. And part of that may be because it's mostly the same few dedicated FReepers providing the funds and along with the rest of us I'm sure they're stretched to the limit. Sure would be nice if a few more FReepers and lurkers would lend a hand and send in a few bucks. Doesn't take much. I think our average donation is around $20, but you can send in $5, $10, $20, $30 or more and make it a monthly contribution if you can.
A relatively few good FReepers is all it takes to keep FR on the air so hundreds of thousands of us can join together in kicking liberal butt and fighting for our freedom!!
For example, 1,500 dedicated FReepers and lurkers donating an average of $20 each per month is all it takes to continue delivering these hundreds of millions of propaganda fighting, pro-liberty pages to tens of millions of readers every year. How many concerned citizens and potential voters can we reach for a tiny fraction of a cent per page? FR delivers a BIG bang for the buck!!

Talking amnesty before the election is designed to boost the Democrats with Hispanics and help illegals vote while raising issues the Republicans will oppose. It is all politics and power. Same ole same ole.
I agree
to get this sort of reaction...do you think there’s no correlation between this and obama’s errand boys in the criminal liberal media sounding the horns that it was a major problem Scott Brown did not attend a Tea Party in Boston last week???
guarantee you they are working hand in hand to divide us....
This will bring the purple people beaters out in force.
My immigration plan involves a path to amnesty...for employers. They would have until July 1st to come clean. Get their papers in order for all their employees proving they are legal...with stiff jail terms and fines and loss of licenses for any employer employing illegals. With the jobs drying up, 80% of illegals will self deport, the rest can be mopped up and deported thru attrition. Meanwhile...BUILD THE FENCE.
HAHA...O’s taking some heat from the Arizona bill. The hispanic caucus is telling him to get off his duff and do something.
“I dont trust Brown. Hopefully, he will earn it.”
It is interesting that BO is attempting to sully him through association. Sort of like being hugged by a leper.
They assume they won’t be in a position to do it after the elections.
Love that...lol
If he can pass Health Care then immigration is a piece of cake. Amazing how fast he operates.
