The French Quarter Fracas: Jindal Speaks, Says Nothing (Updated, 10:55 p.m)

Posted on April 19th, 2010 by macaoidh

UPDATE, 10:55 p.m.: Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, Allee Bautsch’s boss, gave WWL-TV in New Orleans a no-comment comment this evening…

Gov. Bobby Jindal said Monday he isn’t going to comment further on the investigation into the recent French Quarter attack that left his chief fundraiser and her boyfriend injured.

Allee Bautsch, 25, suffered a broken leg, and her boyfriend suffered a broken jaw, nose and concussion.

When asked about the incident on Monday, Jindal said the couple is now recovering at home after receiving “serious” injuries.

“We’re going to refrain from commenting on it. We certainly keep her in our thoughts and prayers,” Jindal said. “I know she appreciates many people asked about her. She is home, which is a positive step.”

The rest of the WWL report is an embarrassing rehash of the dinosaur media whitewash we’ve grown very irritated with while this case has stagnated. We could say more about the asinine treatment this case has received by the recently-exposed cowards and frauds in the state’s newspapers and other “traditional” media, but our readers already know our position on the subject.

Meanwhile, Jindal spokesman Kyle Plotkin gave us this statement in response to a question about the potential role of the Louisiana State Police in this investigation:

Why is the mainstream media not covering this?? Oh yeah, it's because they are looking for the Tea Party members to be causing this type of anarchy, not these fine, upstanding Leftists.

I hope none of his staff or aides never attend attend a fundraiser again. Would you blame them?

WTH? Did you leave your spine at a party, Mr. Jindal?

Speak the flippin' truth!

It’s alright to menace, harm, disrupt, taunt, non Leftists,
just listen to the mob outside Brennan’s who did this.
Leftists are convinced their actions justify the means.

Still no answer anywhere on why the NOPD allowed this mob to form on a Friday night outside Brennan’s restaurant for hours with the harassment which boiled over finally into the
“anarchists” crossing the line and committing violence. There is no excuse I can imagine for the NOPD to let this violent mob exist. Where was the NOPD for hours that night?
No wonder I am out of N.O. Also, good for tourism.

I wonder if calls to the Gov’s Office would help? We really need good people on our side fighting against this garbage.

He is doing the right thing. Allow the investigation to take place. He is doing an investigation himself. Fools do what hussein did, run their mouth before any investigation is done. If you have ever been deposed and you have a good attorney, you will be told to never help the other side. Answer truthfully, but if yes or no answers the question, leave it at that. Do not elaborate or explain when you do not need to. If you do not know an answer you say I do not know. As this is not a deposition, he can simply say no comment. Jindal does not need to help the other side by opening his mouth before he is ready and knows without a doubt exactly what, who, how and when. After every T is crossed and every I is dotted, he will announce what his investigation has uncovered. Anything he says can tip the other side and they can clean up what they believe he knows. I will give Mr. Jindal some more time and see if anything is forthcoming, if not then I will be very disappointed in him.

They must have been attending a union meeting.

He is doing the right thing. Allow the investigation to take place. He is doing an investigation himself.

That's all well and good. But he could have at the very least spoken out against the violent act and denounced it, without getting into any motivations at this point, etc..

So why did Jindal wait so long to say nothing?

I would guess he is trying to avoid having to answer questions concerning it. I would much rather see a solid indictment of those involved in the near future as opposed to a typical politician’s windbag puffed up statement about bal bla bla bla bla... and then we never hear about it again. Perhaps that is why he was saying nothing until pressed to and issued the “no comment” statement.

Like I said, I will be extremely disappointed in Jindal if he is not working quietly toward an indictment on those involved.

People call Jindal a RINO, I do not believe he is. Many people around the country have no idea of how powerful a man Huey P. Long was and how he changed politics in Louisiana for generations. He owned the state, took over the U.S. Senate and more than likely would have become the POTUS had he not been assassinated. (There is still strong evidence to this day that Roosevelt had him assassinated.) That legacy is still being dismantled, not quickly enough for some people, but it is happening.

Anyway, I am pulling for Jindal to come through on this incident.

I agree that it would be the thing to do in a normal world, but he was hopefully trying to avoid being sucked into a situation where questions would be asked that the Department of Propaganda could then spin to suit their agenda on how he responded to those questions...

Maybe not though. Like I said, if nothing comes of this from Jindal’s office, I will be very disappointed.
