PHOENIX (AP) -- The Arizona House on Monday voted for a provision that would require President Barack Obama to show his birth certificate if he hopes to be on the state's ballot when he runs for re-election.
The House voted 31-22 to add the provision to a separate bill. The measure still faces a formal vote.

The Factcheck situation probably caused more suspicion by the goofy way the Obama people handled it. How was it goofy?
Doing it as I described--with press from "friendly" media--would make this fade away to insignificance.
I don't see how it would be any different from making it available for inspection at his campaign headquarters.

It wouldnt be a usurping per se. Yes it would. A state has absolutely no perogative to define terms in the Federal Constitution.
NBC has never been clearly defined
Yes it has. See US v. Kim Wong Ark.

Now...if we can just get rid of McCain, we’d be good. ;)

Now the question is would the legislators of the State of Arizona be willing to pass a law that usurps the Constitutional role of the federal government? What Constitutional role is that?? States, as instructed by the Constititution, appoint electors and sign and certify who the electors voted for. Checking eligibility is something they probably should have been doing all along.

“Obama will need to submit something much more convincing”
I fully agree. However, IF the State of Hawaii sends the same type of document and says it is in accordance with Hawaiian law...then what can be done? Unless the law is very clear that only an original, physician signed, copy will suffice.

Every state should do this. PERIOD. It is a no-brainer.

What type of person implements an executive order to seal of their background as one of their first things in office?
It’s obvious the truth is that he knows he isn’t constitutionaly qualified.

Yes it has. See US v. Kim Wong Ark.Good point. Obama doesn't fit the Wong Kim Ark definition of natural born citizen. He does fit its definition of citizen of the United States and natural born subject of Great Britain.

Unless the law is very clear that only an original, physician signed, copy will suffice.I don't have a problem if the COLB can be determined to be genuine. So far the state of Hawaii has refused to say Obama's alleged COLB is genuine or accurate. They would have legal ways to verify it, but they refuse to do so. If they suddenly cooperated, then it would be hard to dispute. Keep in mind, the state claimed they verified Obama's place of birth by looking at mulitple records. Chances are slim that Obama's alleged COLB is genuine as it should be sufficient by itself to prove his place of birth. If the state of Hawaii has to look at other vital records, then those same records would need to be available to any state with a ballot law such as what Arizona is proposing.

Why would 22 vote against this? Obviously, they are the “birthers”, and they know or suspect there is a problem with their dear leaders eligibility. I bet they are Democrats.

What process is in place if after Obama became 18
If Obama was adopted in Indonesia, he would have had six months -- starting on his 18th birthday -- to re-affirm his US citizenship.
His adoption is almost certain (see the language in the divorce records).
The question becomes, did he re-affirm his US citizenship?
If he didn't, and he WAS adopted, he could still be an Indonesian, and wouldn't that be a kick in the balls.

Ha, ha, ha. You're outta your mind.
It's as simple as pressing a button.

It is certainly distracting enough that he and his handlers must organize legal defenses and expend time preparing for and arguing in court. I doubt there is much more to preparing a response then filling in the date, and title of the case. Certainly there ain't much time spent arguing in court since none of the suits have gotten past standing.
Ran across this the other day...
http://tesibria.typepad.com/whats_your_evidence/BIRTHER%20CASE%20LIST.pdf
It's a PDF that documents all the birther court cases and where they are now or how they ended.
Look at the last column (Obamas Defense) and you will see that almost every one of them never even reached Obamas attorneys.
This “millions spent by Obama’s lawyers” is just another self perpetuating birther myth. There is no proof.
To: Darkwolf377
for thinking the birthers like Beck look a bit, uh, overly focused?
That's because you're too busy defending the usurper.
Obama has many, many, many, many loose ends. His "biography" is under continual revision.

I would love to hear what McLame has to say about this..........
Why?
It was the deal that McCain made with the progressives on the Judicial Committee, that gave us Barack Obama.
The honorable John McCain, isn't.

What happens when, to comply with this and possibly other laws, 0bama presents the COLB computer printout from Hawaii DOH and it is accepted under the provisions of the law? I imagine something like this....
