The worst thing about the passage that I have quoted is its apparent endorsement, or uncritical acceptance, of Freuds characterization of the Nazis as right-wing. This seems to me simplistic to the point of dishonesty, or at least symptomatic of a desire that complex social and political realities should be located on an analogue scale from right to left or left to right. If such a scale must be used, it seems to me that there is as much, if not more, reason to place Nazism on the left of it rather than on the right.
Not that this would be satisfactory, far from it. As Bishop Butler said, every thing is what it is and not another thing; Nazism was what it was and not another thing. If it could not, and cannot, be fitted neatly on to a political analogue scale, so much the worse for the scale. To change the figure of speech, we must not construct Procrustean conceptual beds.
Does it matter, however, if Nazism being what it was and not another thing is routinely characterized as being right-wing? I think that it does matter, for the following reason. There is a false syllogism that has a profound psychological effect:
* Nazism was right-wing. * Conservatism is right-wing. * Therefore Nazism was conservative and conservatism is Nazi. ....

Glen Beck explained this on his show, one time. In Europe right wing and left wing are both forms of socialism. Europeans refer to white supremacist wing of socialism as right wing socialists and the non-white supremacists as left wing. So, Margaret Sanger would have been called a right winger.
That’s quite amazing, thank you for posting those ruble notes.
Simply by chance, the National Socialists were seated on he right with respect to the central dais of the old Reichstag. Each fo the prevaling parties of the day were seated together. Leftists love to say that the Nazis were fascist, when in fact they were totalitarians AND socialists.
Margret Sanger was an enthusiastic supporter of eugenics.

Exactly. The Communists' most intense fights were against those closest to their ideology, such as Social Revolutionaries, Mensheviks and Trotskyites, socialists all.
Not quite, in communism, the state does own the means of production, but in pure socialism, the people own the means of production in common. It is fascism that allow private ownership of production with heavy regulation by the government in a kind of symbiotic relationship between favored companies and the government. In fascism the people own nothing and have no rights. They are simply the tools with which the government secures its power and the private industry secures its profit (though limited greatly by the state and shared with the government elites).
And Stalin was not an Internationalist, like the Trotskyites, he did not want Communism to expand, other than via the Red Army (”Socialism in One Country”).
In fact, that was the reason that Stalin at first thought Hitler was a good thing, because Stalin’s biggest fear was the German Communist Party, under Thaelmann gaining control, because a Communist Germany would have rivaled the Soviets for control of the Communist movement. By allowing Hitler to purge the German Communists, it kept Moscow in firm control of the movement. Many German Communists who fled to the Soviet Union to flee Hitler, found themselves victims of the 1938 purge. By the end of war, only a few German Commie stooges, like Ulbricht remained, whom the Soviets could easily control.
The National Socialist Worker’s Party sure sounds “right wing”, eh?
And their actions fit in with the other right-wingers like Stalin, Lenin, Mao, Pol Pot.
The way they wanted National Health Care, and got Workmen’s Comp, unemployment insurance, and other things of a similar vein sure points to a lean to the Right.
Then there is the direct control of private industry, and wage controls points again firmly to the right...
Only if you happen to be a Stalinist.
The nickname Nazi
comes from the German pronunciation of National
.
In Man With a Movie Camera (1929), a shooting gallery featured a figure of Hitler with a swastika which, when shot, popped open a sign reading (in translation) "Father of Fascism". Doesn't mean he was really all that different from the Russians, though. IMHO, the biggest difference between Stalin and Hitler is that Stalin thought the world should be ruled by Stalin, and Hitler thought the world should be ruled by Hitler.
Where would Hitler have fallen on the Nolan Chart? Stalin?
I'd call the current batch in power "totalitarian anarchists". They want total power for themselves, regardless of what real laws might have to say on the matter.
Hitler and Stalin both greatly admired each other, and drew inspiration from each other.
In fact, Hitler came up with the idea of putting Jews in death camps, based on seeing what Stalin had done with the Gulags. And had Germany defeated the Soviet Union, Hitler had revealed his intentions to offer to Stalin leadership over the Russian Puppet state, out of respect.
The lie is for projection purposes, and has been in “their” playbook for centuries!
I thought it was “National Socialist Workers Party”
Of interest the largest Facist movement in th e 1930’s was in the US......The German American Bund.....
I’ve always said that when the Bund disbanded they went to the next closest thing.....the Democrat Party.....
Despite some here who insist otherwise...... there are no “socialists” on the right side of the political spectrum. Their individual political philosophies are diametrically opposed....
Socialist includes: Utopian Socialists, International Socialists, and National Socialists.....I am tempted to add Anarchists here, but will refrain....
“Basically, commies with spiffier uniforms”
LOLOLOLOL
and better dance steps when they marched......
The truth is that the many of the same sort of liberal who hates Nazis today were joining the American Nazi Party in the late 30’s. The rest joined the American Communist Party.
Everything went swimmingly until The Nazi's betrayed the Russian Communists and attacked them.
The US immediately rushed to Russia's aid and all was well again in Hollywood.
All of this is why US socialists today hate Nazis and try their best to conflate conservatism with Nazism - by resurrecting the old enemy.
THERES NOTHING RIGHT-WING ABOUT NAZIS.
Who the heck started that lie anyway?
Freud?
The Profs at the Universities we all go to ???
