If it turns out that, as you suggest, she quit to prepare for a run at the WH it would mean that the excuses she gave were lies.

She didn't lie. She said she was not retreating and that she was going to take the fight to them, from another direction. Do I need to find the exact quote for you?

No it wouldn't. Politicians leave office mid term to take on greater roles all the time. One who stays in a less valuable roll instead of moving on to a more valuable service isn't doing anybody a favor except to those who hate this country.

Really, who exactly quit an elected office in mid term?

And, please don't trot out that tired, 'left because elected to higher office' line. It doesn't fit since she was not elected to anything else.
