When asked about his presidential ambitions, Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour told reporters earlier this year that If you see me losing 40 pounds that means Im either running or have cancer."
It might be time to start watching Barbours waistline.
POLITICO has learned that Barbour is weighing the prospect of a 2012 White House bid and convened a private meeting April 8 with a group of some of his oldest and closest advisers, some of whom flew in from the East Coast to Jackson, Miss. The gathering stretched for six hours, during which time the topic of a presidential run was discussed.
One adviser familiar with the state capital sit-down said that Barbour concluded that he did not need to make a decision now and that the group should meet again after this falls election.

Oops. I offended the Sarah-mites.
I am sorry that I did not start the comment with, “in my ever so humble ‘I am a conservative but I dont like Sarah’ opinion.”
Is that better.
You guys slay me....
Heh...don't you wish.
No, you're simply being called out on the back-of-the-hand, bare-knuckled slap you gave to one of this nation's finest patriots.
She has to be able to take a lot more than I could hand out.
And I did not slap anyone.
She is not stupid. She knows she cannot win. She will take the money and run. At least this time around.
If she runs, obama wins. If she helps someone else win, she gets right in line with a decent high profile job.
She needs to wait a while.

Anyone who has been a governor and a VP candidate who actually needs to "wait a while" will never be president.Real presidential timber shoots up to the top.The fact that Palin isn't VP right now has very little to do with herself, and a lot to do with Senator McCain.
There you go again. Stating your minority viewpoint as established fact.
I can easily state the opposite view, but I'll do it as my opinion, based on what I've seen.
I don't know where you're drawing your conclusions from, but it can't possibly be from a clear observation of what's actually occurring in the real world.
I did not slap anyone.
Oh yeah, you did. I wouldn't have called you on it, otherwise.
Any republican will beat Obama, Obama has been this bad. Just like in 2008 , any democrat was destined to beat the republican as 2008 was about a Bush third term vs. Change.
2012 will be about re-electing Obama vs Change. You will see lots of republicans lined up to run after the fall elections. The nomination is worth gold because all you have to do to be elected president in 2012 is win the republican nomination.
I completely agree. The next election will be a resounding rejection of Obama and Marxism. We just have to ensure that we get someone in there who will abide by The People's will.
I personally believe the person who will come closest to doing that is Sarah Palin.
