Obama asks businesses to get behind climate bill WASHINGTON (AP) - President Barack Obama wants business leaders to push Congress to pass long-stalled climate legislation. Obama made the plug during a meeting Friday with his Economic Recovery Advisory Board, which includes the heads of General Electric, Caterpillar and Oracle, along with labor leaders and economists.
He told the group that the climate bill - which would cap global warming emissions - is good for business.
Obama said that individual members of Congress may be worried about the short-term implications of voting for the bill and that hearing from businesses would be reassuring. Energy legislation narrowly passed the House last year and some Democrats came to regret their support. It's up next in the Senate, after financial reform, Obama said.

I think one of the biggest misconceptions amongst the American public is that a company pays it’s taxes. The truth is that you...the consumer that buys or uses services from this company...are paying their taxes. If the gov’t raises taxes on this company....it falls to you the consumer to pay them. The same is true for a taxi company, a chicken-wing company, a barber shop, and even a bait & tackle shop. The minute you raise taxes on them...it’s up to you the consumer to help fix the problem.
The public knowledge over how businesses run or how taxes really work...is something that we don’t teach in high school or college.

I was at the whitehouse.gov the other day and healthimagination had a banner advertisement on a government website. When was the first time you ever saw a ad on a goivernment website?

As I like to say, Carbon dioxide is not a pollutant, it is a plant growth stimulant, at anything up to many times current levels. Hundreds of millions, if not billions, of 3rd World peoples depend on the crop yields that current CO2 levels allow. If you are for reducing CO2 levels, you are for starvation and misery for millions.
