Just sent the following to Canada's Eleanor Clift:

It is with interest that I read your article "Sarah Palin Unplugged" on April 16.

I had a couple of questions which I'd like to share with you about the article,

and the page, if you don't mind.

1) You wrote "Ruinous inflation will happen if the Tea Party had their way,

but only if you doubt that President Obama, with Volcker as an advisor,

won't be able to stare down the noise as he did with health care reform

and come up with new taxes and cost cuts."

This doesn't seem to comport with history: Volcker served under Ronald Reagan,

who was widely villified (at the time) for breaking the back of EXISTING inflation

by tamping down the money supply and massive tax CUTS.

That isn't conjecture, nor opinion: it is empirically-observed, history. It already

happened and has been recorded.

What then is your basis for saying a pursuit of new taxes (as you state) and

cost cuts (which will not happen: the Congressional Budget Office's numbers

were obtained by collecting the taxes for Obamacare for 10 years, but only

providing the services for 6 of them), will tamp down inflation?

2) You wrote "Personally, I prefer reasonable people with deas [sic] who treat others

with respect."

Can you show me where you excoriated people such as those in the following links:

3) You wrote "The facts are that US health care in 2009 inadequately covered 269 million

Americans out of 309 million at a cost of 16% of GDP.

Canadian health care covered 34 million

for 10% of GDP."

So for one and two/thirds the share of GDP, the US covered seven *TIMES* as many people as Canada!

(Yes, the US GDP is higher, but the cost of living and the standard of living are higher as well -- so it won't be a clean apples-to-apples comparison.)

Incidentally, how many Canadians come to the US for

elective surgery for which they are put on waiting

lists in Canada? How many advanced diagnostic instruments

such as MRIs are available per capita in Canada?

And when will Canada stop having their cost of

pharmaceuticals subsidized by US consumers in the form of artificially price differentials?

Finally --

You brought up Sarah Palin's $100,000 payday. So what? A year ago she was $500,000 in debt due to a slew

of frivolous lawsuits brought by shills for the left

abusing a loophole in Alaska state law. If the left had

stopped attacking her (recall also the slam at her daughter

by David Letterman, despite Obama's "injunction" to

leave the children out of personal attacks), she wouldn't

have aroused so much interest.

What is your speaking fee?

Finally--the link on your page concerning your

Professorship at Ryerson University seems to be inoperative.

What field is your degree in, what institution of higher learning did you attend, what was your GPA?

Best Regards,

(email name)

Grey - that was too long. But if you are going to take on a Canadian dolt, all you have to do is mention the Premier of New Brunswick who just went to to the hospitals in Boston to save his own life. The Canadian health authorities wouldn’t operate on him in timely fashion so he went to Boston. His quote was something to the effect “I ran for Governor, I didn’t sign on to die”
