**My Windows Xp just crashed bc my kid hit the power button while it was powering down....ughhh!

I get the error screen and have options to Start in Safe Mode, Restart normally, Restart with last Known Config., etc.
No matter what option I choose, it cycles back to the same error screen with the above options.

Any of you fine techie FReepers ever heard of this one?

You might try doing a System Restore to the last best system state while in Safe Mode.

I use a program called CloneGenius to image my OS partition. It has saved me several times. It takes about 35 minutes to image my 28 Gb OS partition, and about the same amount of time to restore, should I need to (which I did need just last week). And, by using it, I don’t have to reset all of my configurations or install all my programs (just any new ones since the last image files were created).

I recommend checking it or a similar imaging program (there are several available).
