NOAA: Global Temps Push Last Month to Hottest March on Record
NOAA News ^ | April 15, 2010 | NOAA

Posted on 04/16/2010 11:47:22 AM PDT by CedarDave

The world’s combined global land and ocean surface temperature made last month the warmest March on record, according to NOAA. Taken separately, average ocean temperatures were the warmest for any March and the global land surface was the fourth warmest for any March on record. Additionally, the planet has seen the fourth warmest January – March period on record.

The monthly National Climatic Data Center analysis, which is based on records going back to 1880, is part of the suite of climate services NOAA provides government, business and community leaders so they can make informed decisions.

Global Temperature Highlights – March 2010

Other Highlights

Scientists, researchers, and leaders in government and industry use NOAA’s monthly reports to help track trends and other changes in the world's climate. This climate service has a wide range of practical uses, from helping farmers know what and when to plant, to guiding resource managers with critical decisions about water, energy and other vital assets.

NOAA understands and predicts changes in the Earth’s environment, from the depths of the oceans to surface of the sun, and conserves and manages our coastal and marine resources.

Now that "climategate" has been officially downgraded to nothing more than errors by individual scientists that don't affect the overall conclusions of man-made global warming*, the "earth is doomed" chorus speaks up again by presenting worst-case observations while ignoring counter evidence.

It’s all propaganda to push Cap n Tax.

Why is the Senate so desperate to TAX the American people into submission.

I heard someone mention this AM that the Congress critters are thinking up ways to TAX us rather than Cutting SPENDING

Ontario, Canada received no snow, or traces of snow, in March,

That's because it's in CA this next week, ruining my vacation to Yosemite.

The worldwide ocean surface temperature was the highest for any March on record

I wonder if those were from satellite measurements; in the past they have not shown evidence of warming.

Since February was the coldest month on record, average them together and you get two average months.

We have scores of people in our area who can't get contractors to install gutters until October because so many people lost them during our big snow in February!

Wow - that’s really something (if of course we can believe it) - since even Phil Jones at the CUR has admitted there’s been no significant warming in the past 15 years, one can only look at that value as an interesting anomaly (or just another in a series of convenient errors or misrepresentations).

Have they been moving the thermometers again? This was the longest, coldest winter in our area that I can recall.

I've answered my own question. From page 71 of the report:

Satellite input was removed (Smith et al., 2008) by NOAA in July 2009 after complaints of a cold bias in the southern hemisphere. The immediate result was a sharp increase in ocean and ocean/land global temperatures. The result was that NOAA claimed that July and August 2009 had the warmest water temperatures on record, with a jump of about 0.24ºC. This added 0.15ºC to global mean temperatures.

Take a look at the Table of Contents for the report. Enough smoking guns for a whole army regiment!

We had a couple of snow storms in March, and a little one in early April. I had seven grandbabies visiting from Florida, and they loved it. ...It is chilly today, so the globalist warmers will have to wait to sell their scam around these parts.
