Conservative superstar Sarah Palin opened the door yesterday to joining forces with Mitt Romney for a 2012 White House run - a hot ticket that has some Republicans licking their chops at the prospect of unseating President Obama.
Sounds pretty good, Palin declared at yesterdays Tea Party Express rally on the Common when asked about pairing up with the former Bay State governor - giving the idea a big thumbs-up as she left the stage after her headline speech.
Last night, as Palin stopped for cannoli at Mikes Pastry in the North End, she said she was serious about the idea.
I have a lot of respect for Mitt, she told the Herald.
Asked who would be on top of the ticket, Palin roared, Ha! I havent even thought that far ahead yet.
Indeed, Palin said she hasnt decided whether shell run in 2012 - with or without Romney.
Romney, a presumptive 2012 Republican presidential contender who recently embarked on a nationwide book tour, has not ruled out an alliance with Palin, the GOPs 2008 vice presidential candidate.
Mitt Romney respects Sarah Palin and he appreciates the contributions she makes to the party, said Romney spokesman Eric Fehrnstrom. But his immediate focus is on helping Republicans win back the Congress in 2010.
Some veteran political observers were intrigued by the notion of the two telegenic former GOP governors on the same ticket.
They both have a lot they can offer a campaign, said Douglas Lorenz, a California-based GOP consultant. Romney has the experience as a governor and experience as a candidate for president, and when you combine that with Sarah Palins ability to get people motivated, that could definitely be a formidable ticket.
Republican gubernatorial candidate Christy Mihos called the matchup the best of both worlds.
They both come at it from totally different parts of the spectrum, said Mihos, who attended yesterdays Tea Party rally. One deals on a gut level with people and the other is highly successful on the business end of things.
Speaking before a rapt crowd estimated at 5,000, Palin squarely targeted Democrats, pounding away at Obamas $787 billion stimulus package. She also lobbied for domestic oil drilling.
I want to tell em, Nah, well keep clinging to our Constitution and our guns and religion - and you can keep the change, Palin said, later adding, Yeah, lets drill, baby, drill; not stall, baby, stall - you betcha.
Meanwhile, Palin said last night she had no hard feelings about U.S. Sen. Scott Browns decision to skip the rally. He was in Washington doing his job, she said.

And each time I get amazed at how many FReepers swallow what comes out of the Boston Herald and the rest of the MSM.
“Why the Boston Herald said Sarah wants to bee the VP for Romney; so it must be true!”
Hey newb. Piss on Romney and all his moronic sycophants who push this gay-loving, gun-grabbing, culture of death supporting, big-government progressive statist piece of horse hockey.
I don’t think a liberal like Romney would offer anything of value to a conservative like Sarah Palin. Considering what the Romney Sleaze Machine did to her last election cycle and since that election I highly doubt this story.
Wow. What a dishonest piece of mucky garbage.
She'll never run with Mitt
I think the lady is not as conservative as she professes.
Anyone recognize the return of the banned steveb? More articles of misdirection and lies. “sweetb” my ass.
Um, you simply stating "no" won't quite cut it. Though the voters will have the ultimate say, if either Romney or Palin gets the nod then either can choose whom they wish to run with.
I myself, unlike many others, am not a going to abandon Mrs Palin *if* this scenario plays out.
This story has been posted in FR so many times along with the remarks assuming it's true that I'm beginning to wonder if we aught not start saving names to keep a check on in the coming months.
Might be some trolls? (Hard to believe so many FR’s could be so dense.)
To 8 - So you speak for the entire state of Texas?
RINO’s need not apply. While our country, our Constitution, and my grandchildren’s future are going down the toilet bowl, we don’t need pretend Republicans that are eunuchs; Romney is spineless, gutless, and has no nads! While we’re being destroyed by thugs in our White House and enemies in the US Congress, he was smiling and trying to get along.
Don’t even mention his name to me again EVER.
Way to get dragged around by an article full of misinformation and lies. You’re easy.
If the republican dumb ass party goes with these two idiots, that’s the final straw. They will lose by a land slide to the communists in 2012... and they will have deserved to lose, for being so stupid.
"they" don't run Romney, or anyone else.
Romney, if he so desires, will run himself. Don't want him to be the GOP nominee? Simply do not vote for him in the primaries.
You wish.
I agree.. Palin makes me sick.. She is a mindless bimbo that couldn’t get elected to a two bit school board. She has no ability to say “NO” to the demands of the “you know who’s” She is a pretty face that will do nothing except say yes..
Don’t tell me you’re buying this crap too! Come on, use your brain. This is a concocted hit piece, posted by a newbie (sweetb = steveb) to generate doubt and anger at Sarah.
sweetb fits - I suspect steveb did have a little sugar in his tank.
