Mitt Romney-Sarah Palin in 2012? You betcha! ZOT!!
Boston Herald ^ | Thursday, April 15, 2010 - Updated 3h ago | By Edward Mason, Hillary Chabot and Jessica Van Sack

Posted on 04/15/2010 2:25:07 PM PDT by sweetb

Conservative superstar Sarah Palin opened the door yesterday to joining forces with Mitt Romney for a 2012 White House run - a hot ticket that has some Republicans licking their chops at the prospect of unseating President Obama.

“Sounds pretty good,” Palin declared at yesterday’s Tea Party Express rally on the Common when asked about pairing up with the former Bay State governor - giving the idea a big thumbs-up as she left the stage after her headline speech.

Last night, as Palin stopped for cannoli at Mike’s Pastry in the North End, she said she was “serious” about the idea.

“I have a lot of respect for Mitt,” she told the Herald.

Asked who would be on top of the ticket, Palin roared, “Ha! I haven’t even thought that far ahead yet.”

Indeed, Palin said she hasn’t decided whether she’ll run in 2012 - with or without Romney.

Romney, a presumptive 2012 Republican presidential contender who recently embarked on a nationwide book tour, has not ruled out an alliance with Palin, the GOP’s 2008 vice presidential candidate.

“Mitt Romney respects Sarah Palin and he appreciates the contributions she makes to the party,” said Romney spokesman Eric Fehrnstrom. “But his immediate focus is on helping Republicans win back the Congress in 2010.”

Some veteran political observers were intrigued by the notion of the two telegenic former GOP governors on the same ticket.

“They both have a lot they can offer a campaign,” said Douglas Lorenz, a California-based GOP consultant. “Romney has the experience as a governor and experience as a candidate for president, and when you combine that with Sarah Palin’s ability to get people motivated, that could definitely be a formidable ticket.”

Republican gubernatorial candidate Christy Mihos called the matchup “the best of both worlds.”

“They both come at it from totally different parts of the spectrum,” said Mihos, who attended yesterday’s Tea Party rally. “One deals on a gut level with people and the other is highly successful on the business end of things.”

Speaking before a rapt crowd estimated at 5,000, Palin squarely targeted Democrats, pounding away at Obama’s $787 billion stimulus package. She also lobbied for domestic oil drilling.

“I want to tell ’em, ‘Nah, we’ll keep clinging to our Constitution and our guns and religion - and you can keep the change,” Palin said, later adding, “Yeah, let’s drill, baby, drill; not stall, baby, stall - you betcha.”

Meanwhile, Palin said last night she had no hard feelings about U.S. Sen. Scott Brown’s decision to skip the rally. “He was in Washington doing his job,” she said.

Just as Jesus said “those who live by the sword will die by the sword”, so too - those who live by the false “prophets” will spiritually die by them...there’s a spiritual zot of outer darkness coming for many...

****

Those who also break their covenants with the Lord Jesus Christ there are consequences!

Romney has failed on the following "Principles of Liberty":

Principle 15 - The highest level of prosperity occurs when there is a free-market economy and a minimum of government regulations.

Principle 19 - Only limited and carefully defined powers should be delegated to government, all others being retained by the people.

Principle 20 - Efficiency and dispatch require that the government operate according to the will of the majority, but constitutional provisions must be made to protect the rights of the minority.

Principle 22 - A free people should be governed by law and not by the whims of men.

Principle 27 - The burden of debt is as destructive to human freedom as subjugation by conquest.

Would that make him a "moderate that will do nothing for freedom but mess it up"?

I haven't even touched on his flip-flopping in regards to abortion.

“Sorry Sarah...
You got me to hold my nose and vote for McCain...
but now the honeymoon is over...
There just ain’t no way I’m gonna do it again for Romney...
You’re a big girl, Sarah... time to start flapping your own wings instead of hitching a ride with the same old business as usual party elite. “

Well said! Sarah and Romney have all the same advisors...MCCAIN advisors....it’s going to be Palin/Romney for the GOP for 2012 and the rinos have NO ONE to blame but themselves.

Principle 22 - A free people should be governed by law and not by the whims of men.

Resty, if Mormons believed this principle en masse they would have rejected polygamy before the feds stepped in and would have rejected Romney long ago.

I mean talk about the "whims of men!"

Book of Jacob within the Book of Mormon: polygamy is an abomination
By 1830s: Smith is practicing secret polygamy.
By early 1840s: Select Mormon leaders are practicing secret polygamy
By 1850s: The secret beginning to come out & more are embracing polygamy.
1890: The whim of restraint of polygamy strikes, and a declaration is issued to pull back the reins
1890-1903: Hundreds of more plural unions secret sealed & solemnized by church leaders.
1903: Another declaration is issued, this time it's almost a "Hey, we're serious this time" type of declaration...to the point where even ex-communications follow in ensuing years
1930s-1940s: Split in Lds church; flds emerge (over guess what? polygamy)
When the Mormon jesus returns: Bruce R. McConkie's Mormon Doctrine says he will re-introduce polygamy.

Talk about the whims of men!

Romney was first for making homosexuality protected class status in the workplace; then he was against it; then he was for it at the state level!

Romney was first for embryonic stem cell research; then he was against it; then he was "OK" for parents to give their embryos to research (as of Dec. 2007)

Talk about the whims of men!

Romney was first for abortion when his mom was;
...then it came to pass he was semi-against it as a Mormon bishop in the '80s;
...then it came to pass he was for it running vs. Ted Kennedy in the early 90s;
...then it came to pass in 2001 he wrote a letter-to-the editor to Utah readers saying he didn't consider himself "pro-choice";
...then it came to pass he ran on a heavy pro-abortion gubernatorial campaign in 2002;
...then it came to pass he said he had a pro-life "conversion" in 2004;
...yet in May 2005 he still said he was not altering his '02 campaign promises and would protect the abortion status quo;
...but he still said he was "pro-life" and ensured that Planned Parenthood retained permanent oversight status of his expanded abortion Bay State health boondoggle;
...then he underwent a more significant "pro-life" commitment during the '07 campaign;
...yet claimed he had never been "pro-choice" by August, 2007, and by December was advocating that parents give up their embryonic offspring to research [or have them adopted out...their choice]

Thanks whimsical Mitt!

OK that creeps me out, coming from one who believes that the Word of God needed to be “restored”

Very good point.

If the Bible isn’t ‘translated correctly’, how do we know the Constitution is?

Reid is a dye in the wool Socialist or worst! Romney I truely believe he is not but I will wait this season to see what unfolds! moderates do nothing for freedom but mess it up!

There's your problem right there, Resty: Implying that Reid is a "moderate" and by extension Romney a conservative (I mean, if Reid is a "moderate" to you...heaven forbid what that makes Romney out to be).

Resty, in football, when the defensive line realizes it's about to get crushed because they are not correctly aligned to the offensive formation, they make an adjustment. A shift left or a shift right. (May I suggest you need a huge shift rightward?)

Reid is not a moderate.
And Romney isn't one, either. And he's not a conservative, either.

Romney is a chameleon.

(I guess on that he represents his faith well)

What covenants? I haven’t broke any covenants I have made with Jesus, and I doubt colo has either.

T? What about you? Break any covenants?

SZ? You?

Grey? You?

E? You?

SV? You?

CC? How about you?

Resty, I doubt ANY of us have broken the solemn covenants made with the Lord Jesus Christ, namely to take up our CROSS and follow Him.

How about you, Resty, break any covenants? Like the one made on Sunday to keep all the commandments?

And all the FReeper RINOS will try to justify it too.

I just heard through the grapevine about it. I didn’t realize it happened so long ago.

We were on vacation in April with not reliable internet hook up. No wonder I missed all the fun.

When I posted on April 15th, it was just after the 2nd ZOT. Shortly thereafter there appears to have been a third. Is this a 4th? The back-and-forth about zots is kind of confusing.

Romney has failed on the following "Principles of Liberty":...Principle 19 - Only limited and carefully defined powers should be delegated to government, all others being retained by the people.

SZ, Resty, the biblical sovereign reflection of this principle in action is God giving the Holy Spirit to dwell in His people. The primary temple in the New Testament is His people, flesh and blood, not some building on a corner!

In the same way, Resty, why do you honor this principle when the Mormon god and Mormon "prophet" structure tends to dismiss this New Covenant principle?

So note, Resty, I have copied & pasted Principle 19 into this statement below (in Italic) -- and added to it as applied by the Lord's true church-at-large:
Only limited and carefully defined powers should be delegated to church general authority government, all others being retained by God's people, as they are indwelled by the Holy Ghost.

The First Amendment only restricts Congress and the federal government.

It doesn’t compel private citizens to have to allow anything.
