If the goal of the Republican party is to stick to the idea that they’re going to do 95% of what the Democrats would do, that might not be such a bad thing. We need to have a party that will shrink the government every time. I would like that party to be the Republican Party. But we need a party that will shrink the government more than we need the Republican Party. Why are there more Conservatives than Republicans? There are clearly Conservatives that think that Republicans are not Conservative enough. Could there be a party called the Conservative Party? (I know there is one in NY)

I’m of the opinion that you support who you want in the primary, no compromises, and support the Republican in the general.

I could embrace that as long as they don’t abandon the social platforms foundational to conservatism (God & family). Which means NOT abandoning of the drug war, taking on the homofascists (no gay marriage) and allowing God back in the public square. Not only would Ron Paul turn his back on these, but his isolationist foreign policy would be a boon to Global Islamic extremism.
