Irvine Assemblyman Chuck DeVore may be lagging in the polls in his bid for the Republican Senate nomination but hes in the hunt when it comes to raising money for the June 8 primary.
DeVores has raised almost $625,000 during the first quarter of this year. Thats less than his two opponents Carly Fiorina and Tom Campbell. But the $1.8 million hes raised for the campaign is more than the $1.6 million Campbell has reported raising. Now Campbell has been in the race for less time than DeVore and so has raised more than twice what DeVore has during the same time.
Fiorina is another story because the former Hewlett-Packard CEO has put $2.5 mmillion of her own money into the race. And even without that she has raised nearly $2.8 million from donors. So shes got much more money to play with than her two opponents, which is what political experts have been expecting.
DeVore will report that as of March 31, the end of the Federal Elections Commission reporting period, he had almost $412,000 in the bank. Fiorina had $2.8 million cash on hand. Campbells people are still mum on how much money they have to work with at this point.
Fiorina and Campbell have both been on the air with television and with Fiorina set to go on the radio Wedensday, all three candidates will be running radio spots.
All three candidates have raised much less than three-term incumbent Sen. Barbara Boxer, who has raised more than $13 million for her campaign. And Boxer doesnt have a tough primary battle to contend with.

DeVore is the ONLY good choice in that race. Fiorina is a RINO and Campbell is an idiot.
“DeVore needs our commitment”
Yes he does. I have made three donations and will make more in the future. He is the only Conservative in the race. The others are RINO’s. Please donate to Chuck’s election as we need a Conservative to replace Boxer. Not a Boxer lite.
I agree 100%. How people can flock to Campbell is beyond me. He was just Gov Schwarzenegger’s finance director supporting gas taxes and the horrid compromise bill with the phony baloney mechanism to avoid cutting government. Is that the kind of representative that want? He has also supported restoring funding of the UNs international population control program which contributes to China and other nations promoting and subsidizing abortion. He also didn’t have a problem being a vocal opponent of Prop 8 yet has still not signed on to a full repeal of Obamacare. We have Boxer on the road to retirement and it is clear even a rock solid conservative can beat her. Once the primary is over the money will flow like water to DeVore and he’ll have a war chest to defeat her. We just need to get DeVore over the finish line.
That's the bad news.
The good news is, even in California, voters still want 0bamcare repealed, at least according to Rasmussen anyways.
“Still, 51% of voters in the state favor repealing the law, including 44% who strongly favor it. Forty-four percent (44%) oppose repeal, with 37% who strongly oppose. “

If the Tea Parties and the conservative Club for Growth get strongly behind DeVore with some money and TV ads, he could just pull it off.
Let's not forget that The Club for Growth run a $300,000 TV ad campaign gor Doug Hoffman in NY 23, and that was just one congressional district, not a statewide election like this one is.
This gives him a much better chance now.
Say what? Stupid Fringe Media.
Tom Campbell 41% Barbara Boxer 43%
Chuck DeVore 39% Barbara Boxer 42%
Carly Fiorina 38% Barbara Boxer 42%
I totally agree. DeVore is also no slouch on creativity. He needs a good “moment”. Something recorded something inspiring. Some stand up moment that makes people want to know who he is and stand up with him.
Time to kick moderates and technoexecweinies to the curb.
Go Chuck!
Does anyone really believe this guy can win? I think I’d vote for a German Shepherd over Boxer if I thought the Shepherd had the best chance at winning.
